Default Stock Cube 98' Ls1 Dyno results

So here is my mods list:

Loudmouth 1 Catback
SLP 3" ORY Pipe
Pacesetter Long Tubes
SLP High Performance Ls6 Intake
SLP Double Roller Timing Chain
SLP Ported Ls6 Oil Pump
TSP 5.3 2.5 CNC Heads
MS3 Camshaft
Comp Cams Chrome Moly 7.400" Pushrods
Comp Cams Lifters
SLP Lid
TCI 3400 Stall Converter
FAST 36# Injectors
Clevite bearings with stock internals

The car dyno'd 395whp/356tq! My transmission was slipping, and i am still running on the stock maf so im sure that held me back quite a bit but im still impressed! Car runs great after my tune! Now if i can just keep my foot out of it til' I can afford a t56 I will be good! lol

What do you guys think? Im gonna get a walbro 250lph fuel pump, underdrive pullies and a ported maf and see if i can hit 450whp through the auto in a few more weeks.

All of this was made possible by Steve and Rudy at VDP Motorsports here in Tulsa, Oklahoma

Here's some pics of the car, remember its still under construction:

Was your converter locked?
Numbers look good. I would say 420 - 440 rwhp is possible.

Okay im gonna be honest, i dont know jack **** about stalls... All i know is its a 3200 stall and when i try to stall it up it only goes to about 2200... Now i need a bigger throttle body or something because something has got to be holding me back... With my mods list do you have any ideas?

M6 cars seem to make alot more power to me... I plan on swapping to a t56 when i blow this 4l60e up so hopefully i will make closer to the 500whp mark with that...?

A ported fast 90/90 would help out some along with a ftp 98mm lid with gm 85mm maf should pick up a total of 15-20hp.

Im speed density tuned so no maf... My main worry right now is my throttle body... Is there an ls motor with a bigger tb on it that i could replace mine with? I.e. is the ls6 tb bigger than the ls1 tb?

I do think i need a FAST 90/90 or 92/92 though but thats kinda taken a backseat after i did some window shopping lol at least til i get my t56... :/

Well if your tranny is slipping then some power may not be showing up.
Locking your converter on the dyno generally will show more power too, but that is all dependent on the converter you have in your car.

Also how many miles you have on that 98? That may make a difference.

Changing your tranny to a M6 is only going to reveal a higher dyno number. Doesn't mean your car will be any faster compared to the auto. M6 are fun to drive though!!

I wouldn't blow up your tranny. Why not sell it and use the money for your t56.

An underdrive pulley will net you about 5-7rwhp. But it will rap the motor to higher rpms quicker!! The fuel pump will not change your power unless it incredibly starved for fuel.

Good luck. I think you are about right for your mods.

Yeah i know im not showing all my numbers due to the tranny but i dont think i locked my converter up...? I really wanna m6 for more fun and more of a highway car cuz as of right now an auto to me is only good for the track...

I had pullies on my lt1 and it made a world of difference in the rpm's climbing and i think that will help me out in the long run with this setup as well...

I wanna get a bigger fuel pump because i plan on spraying it at some point and if i hit 450whp on the stock one im probably gonna max it out when i spray it and lean out...

And thank you for your words of advice as im sure you have been in my shoes lol

I bet the converter wasn't locked.
Yeah I currently have an MS3. Some gears and a FAST Intake will help.

No vacuum/brake problems. Do you have a larger hole in your throttle body. What is your car idling at when stopped?

What!?

Finally, you won't see 450rwhp with a new pump, ported MAF (????), and some pullies. You CERTAINLY won't see anywhere near 500rwhp with T56 swap.

Car idles at 1500 rpm's currently, im only WOT tuned and base/street tuned so i havent dropped my idle a whole lot yet but i heard that the lower i drop it the more vacuum problems i will have?

I'm no expert, but 1500 rpm seems a bit high.
I would see what would happen if you dropped between 900 and 1150 rpm at idle.

So, do you have speed density tune or a MAF setup?

Maybe you'll understand when you do the pullies, ported MAF, and T56 swap and end up with 420rwhp
