Default cam only 6.0 lq9 in my SS

lq9 6.0, stock heads, t56
tsp tV2 cam (232/234 .595 .598 113)
ls6 intake/stock hand ported TB
42lb injectors
Underdrive pulley
pacesetters
hooker muffler
cutout

thats about it..besides ls7 clutch and ls2 flywheel.

405rwhp 397tq thru muffler and 415rwhp and 406tq open cutout. I'm happy with it, it actually makes more than I thought it would. don't pay attn to a/f...the probe was still in the tail pipe w/ cutout open

Nice numbers for a lower compression motor. I bet if you throw some LS6 or 5.3l heads on there you would pick up some decent power with the compression bump.

I did the tune.

but I do have some absolute speed 5.3 heads that have been reworked over the years that are a great piece, I may put them on. I'm wondering about ptv clearance going from 72-62cc though on the stock flat tops.

put them on and check it. if the flat tops of a ls1 were fine, the flat tops of an lq9 should be too.

Are you running LS1 heads or the 6.0L heads? The LS1 heads are 66cc chambers, I am pretty sure. So, from 66 to 62cc is not that big of a jump. Or you get some TFS which have a different valve angle and will clear when stock type heads do not.

TFS FTW! I have a few seen a people pick up 25-30hp over other ported ls6/5.3 heads with cams around that size! But if ya go TFS you can go with a way bigger cam too

This car has stock 6.0 heads on it.

the motor i had that originally ran my spare 5.3 heads was a 9.5:1 dished diamond piston motor. PTV was fine on that motor. This motor has stock pistons and stock heads.
