Not unless the stall won't lock on the dyno. If it's physically smaller then the numbers might even go up..

The car ran 12.5 @ 116 today at MIR with a 2.1 60ft. It pulls strong on the top end but really needs a converter and sticky tires to get out of the hole. Heavy *** 19" wheels with street tires arent cutting it The car should run 11's pretty easily with the converter and drag radials.

If its not a triple disk converter I wouldn't go around recommending locking it up under WOT even though bunches throw this advice around. I understand parasitic losses but I was specifically referring to an aftermarket converter loss of efficiency on the top end causing to car to dyno slightly lower even though car would be faster.

I can see this is the reason for your rebuttal:

I could care less who tuned the car, but at what point do you think an aftermarket converter that demolishes off the line would have higher efficiency than a stock converter designed for gas mileage and efficiency? Here it comes

The only thing I addressed was your actual reference to his dyno numbers; nothing to get upset about there buddy.

Here is a thread from Yank posted in the G8 section. https://ls1tech.com/forums/pontiac-g...r-install.html They did a dyno test showing that their converter picks up power over the stock converter. It figures since it is smaller and has less rotational mass. It is also shown to be 96.5% efficient. So Im sure it doesnt give up much if anything to the stock converter and it will be alot more fun to drive. Im not concerned if I happen to lose 1-2 mpg. The ability to launch the car out of the hole will more than make up for it.

Im happy with it as is but too much is never enough when it comes to power. The Fast intake would be pretty much the last mod I can do to it N/A. It is like a new car with the bigger cam. I just picked up a 3200 converter so the track numbers will be able to back up the dyno numbers. Have to install it then get Steve to touch up the trans tune.
