I did a ls1 swap in a 72 chevy shortbed truck with the complete engine/tranny from a fellow LS1Tech member "Tin Indians" wrecked 98 TA that i bought last month
This is in a 12-bolt 3.73 rearend that the truck came with.
TEA 1.5 heads
Stock bottom
TR220 cam
ls6 intake
FLP headers
ported TB
a4 /w 2800 converter (unlocked)
399 rwhp ( cant remember torque but i think it was in the 390 range)

Sounds like a sweet project. Stock heads on that thing? 399 rwhp on a TR220 is impressive. How much TQ?
I'd really like to see pictures if you have any. The 67-72 model Chevy truck has great style.

Damn! Did Ron wreck his car? What happened? I remember that car, It dyno'd 388rwhp back here in Alabama thru the FLP cats, FLP headers, full exhaust, and unlocked converter. That was a beautiful car... ![Sad](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_sad.gif)
Also, the little TR220 cam makes damn good power. I made 416rwhp 392rwtq on a stock tune with my old TR220 and unmilled patriot stage II 5.3's

Yea..its a customers truck, but i do alot of the ls1 swaps around here. Youd be suprised how many people are willing once someone can walk them through it.
It took me forever a few years ago to do my ls1 swap because there was no info on it anywhere.
Now I have all my buddies doing it, currently we got these cars putting together a swap:
68 Camaro ls1/t56
72 truck ls1/4l60e (the one above
86 Mustang 5.0 coupe, LS1/TH350) (weighs 2300 lbs now full weight)
My C4 Corvette , 3000lb race weight, 408" stroker /nitrous
86 RX7 Turbo II, Ls1/t56
86 monte carlo ss ls1/auto

Holy cow, how is that Mustang that light? Alluminum LS1 block helps I guess, but still. The Fox coupe conversion has been an idea I had too. My stripped down '91 coupe was about 2700lbs. 2300 ???? whoa I had tubular K-member & coilovers, all stock body though.

My 89 coupe weighs 2,800 with my 200lbs ***, cage, and stock K-member in it. I have pulled all the carpet, seats, heat, A/C, front swaybar, etc. I have seriously toyed with the idea of doing an LS1 conversion on it.
C4LS1,
Is there an adapter that would allow me to keep my new Performance Automatic Pro Comp C4 and custom nitrous converter while bolting it up to a LS1 engine?
