As a matter of fact, I think these are my original stock heads that I sold to Jason a few months back. Way to go guys, very impressive.

Sam-eye-Am: To take full advantage of this cam, I would recommend at least a 4000 stall and 3.73s. You can get by with less, it just will not be as optimal.

Once the testing is complete, these cams will be available shortly after. We have at least one more cam to try before finalizing on something we wish to sell to the general public. We could sell this current cam, but we feel we may be leaving some power on the table with a few different timing events. Hopefully, you will see even better numbers next week.

I got the dyno graph uploaded comparing this cam to the '02 LS6 cam. The only things changed are the cam and a switch to the Thunder Racing 1 3/4" headers (previously had MACs):

Here is a short soundclip of the cam. Sorry it is only 15 seconds, but that's all my POS camera will take. lol I'll try and get somemore tomorrow. The dyno video didn't come out well at all (POS camera, again).

Jason, not trying to kick ya in the nuts but just wanted to clear something up. While this is a rebuilt stock shortblock with stock parts, it's not rebuilt to stock "GM" specifications....At least from what I recall you saying before. Therefor it's a hair looser than say somebody else's shortblock from the factory...

Not givin ya **** man, just wanna make sure we're apples to apples here....

can you say what LSA it's on at all and what the idle speed it set too? Sounds sick as hell. I love it.

Josh, I don't know what you are considering "loose" when building a motor. If you are referring to the bearings clearances, then the bearings clearances are right within the specs of what GM calls for. The rod bearings were set at .0015-.0018" and the mains at .0018-.0020". Ring end gaps were set at .018" top/.023" second. The cylinders were given a very slight hone to ensure a proper cylinder wall finish for the new rings and ARP rod bolts were installed for added security. The rings obviously sealed very well as it burns 0 oil and does make good power.

The idle is set at 1000 for the time being, but it can stand to be dropped down to 900. It was put there just as a starting point.

Just curious bro. That shortblock is definately special. The highest we've seen locally with the LS6 cam/stock headed motors was 375 rwhp, with every other mod possible. You've got a strong one fo sho

2002_TAWS6, this is not the TR236 cam. When going as big some of the newer cams have been, the biggest problem is trying to a find a cam that will physically fit in the motor, not necessarily what the stock heads can utilize.

Josh, thanks.

Dan, this was run with a dual exhaust type setup. It consists of two dynomax bullet mufflers that dump before the rearend. I'm going to dyno it tomorrow with my y-pipe to see if there is any change. I borrowed this exhaust off of Shane's car because my y-pipe wasn't available when I finished the car.
