Nice setup. A few quick questions. I'm in the market for either a 418 or 427 LS3 stroker for an offroad prerunner application. For the 4.1" stroke the extra stroke is gained in the crankshaft correct? If not what is the rod length of both strokes? The piston pin is located in the same location for both 4.0" and 4.1" strokes? Is the piston pin into the ring land, if not how close is it approx? Any pictures handy of a LS3 stroker piston with wrist pin location?

Thanks, just trying to clarify a few things.

I have an SDPC LS3 427 in my 2002 Firebird and have never had it dynoed (very similar cam and same intake), thanks for the info!! I got the motor new in the crate from a seller on LS1Tech for a great price in 2008. SDPC builds a great motor as I race this car almost every weekend and drive it everywhere, the car has 28,000 miles and over 600 runs down the dragstrip. It seems a 4.10 stroke works just fine in a well built LS3 block! The best my car has run at 3540 raceweight is 10.34 @ 131 and 6.60 @ 104 1/8mile.

The stroke is gained in the crankshaft yes. Both setups use a 6.125" rod. The pin is moved up for a 4.100 stroke, I will get you some pictures of pistons this upcoming week! I thought I had some, but this is all I've got and you can't see pin location. Our Manley line of pistons that I will get more pictures of for you:

Nice! I'm very glad to hear it is not only performing well but is also holding up well. Thank you very much for sharing your feedback on one of our engines

Thanks for the response. I'll check back for the piston pics with the wrist pin location.

On the left is a 4" stroke piston, on the right is the same piston in 4.100", both are pistons for an LS2 4.005" bore by the same manufacturer with the difference being the stroke they are meant to be used with.

I want one just to have the "427" emblem on the side under the SS tag.
