I currently have a 383, 200cc RHS heads, xr288hr-10 cam, dual plane. I'm thinking about changing to a truck 6.0 with cleaned up heads and a cam.
I'd also be swapping my auto trans, 3000 stall, and 3.50 gears for a t56 and 4.10 gears.
How much low end torque would I lose going to the 6.0? It seems I could put a cam in it and it should be real close, except for the .13" or so less stroke. The intake port volume is the same, and I should be able to get the stock heads to flow 260 cfm. A good tune should match the EFI to the carb. Whats 15 cubic inches?
I've just never ridden in any Gen III vehicle with low end nuts like a 350 and my 383 is brutal off the line. I don't want to lose that.
I did have a vortech blower on it, but it was too much on the street.
