MIKE-If you think it's worth a 100k+ your a nut. I'm not impressed with that power for that price. It's not a car most of us can afford. That car is like gas prices....a rip off. There are two modded by my house,i'm sure this year i'll race them but they will prob only want a highend race from me and not a 1/4mi.

These cars weren't designed for living life a quarter mile at a time...what you pay for is a car that is a total beast on a road course, which is something you car would probably never be able to do. Carbon ceramic brakes, a very good vehicle stability control system, etc...it not only goes fast, it can actually sustain that type of driving for hours on end. People can be faster in a quarter mile because they only have to accelerate and brake once...keep doing it over and over again, and that's where you'll find the need for reliability that drives the price up.

While it may not be worth the price of admission to you, I personally feel that you can't get a car that can do what it can, WITH a warranty, for that kind of money. Maybe I'm biased because I've personally been spanked by one on a 2.2 mile road course.

Don't know if anyone brought this up but for a dealer to sell one they have to have a certified mechanic that can work on it.

I totally agree! Nothing like having the power with a warranty. However I think a H/C z06 with the zr1 magnetic suspension with 600 rwhp NA I would rather have. It wouldn't be warrantied though, but would be reliable.

lol step away from the keyboard and just think for a minute. #1 you realize this is a BONE stock car. OK.... #2 this car with mods will make 700 rwhp on the stock blower. #3 its the entire package and makes exotics priced at 500 grand embarrassed. #4 the brakes alone probably cost more then what your car is worth @ 20,000 dollars. Your not just paying for parts on a zr1.. your paying for the parts the warranty and the research and development of a small unit car that competes with the best of what the world has to offer. When a 120,000 dollar car can do that, its a friggin bargain. Maybe you cant afford it, neither can i, but you can discount what this car can do or what its worth simply because its out of your price range.

Looks like the spike at the end caused the numbers to be a little inflated. Looks like a 560whp car. Solid!

Exactly, It's a bargain compared to those foreign exotic supercars.

It's also by far the best handling and most powerful Vette ever produced by GM.

I've seen used ones going for high $80K and low $90K with a few thousand miles on them. That's alot of money to me but if I could afford it, I would buy that over a 250K + foreign exotic.

Plus it's made in the USA.

Great numbers OP.

Well, then what car is cheaper and has 570rwhp stock with the characteristics of a race car?

So Ferrari, Lambos and Porsche are the biggest rip off the galaxy!!!

I see that paying any car 100K+ is not a good investment. Anyway to run 10s, your car's value might be around 30-50K+$ total? and its only fast in straight line and braking? With no warranty too. Not taking down your setup, because I have the same kind of money invested.

Its just that 570rwhp+all out streetable racecar stock comes at a cost, and it just happens thats the fastest car ever for the price.

I still think though that the best hp/$$ bargain is the Z06 though..

I agree...the ZR1 is AWESOME...but dollar for dollar, nothing holds a candle to a ZO6.

+1 on the Z06 bang for the buck factor.

Can't wait to see the new pulley -n- tune dyno numbers from this factory freak ZR1.

Very impressive power for a stock car

What do these run down the 1/4 in standard form?

I would love one of these, but here in Australia, they go for 350k +

The issue is that most people mod their cars on this site for 1/4 times and only see every performance car in one and same dimension.

That said , the zr1 and GT-R are the only two "super cars" in the $100k range that are in same performance category that Europe has to offer.

It may not be in reach financially for lot of people on this site, including myself but a 100k car that can outdo the competition (which is priced atleast 3x much) is simply amazing! There's a reason why Engineers that create these cars go home with well over $140k a year.

Sure I can put a foxbody Gutted, caged, slicks with a forged 402 on laughing gas that runs high 8s under $25k.
The difference is the fox 'd have no MPGs, warranty, modern amenities, or know what to do with itself around a 60 degree curve.

Screw the peak hp - the damn thing made over 500rwtq at 2700rpms!!

That is nuts for a stock car, "tame" (as tame as that kind of power can be) manners, and a 100k mile warranty.

For people bragging about having higher numbers for less $$$...is your car 100% streetable, passes smog, decent MPG, has an awesome warranty, handles like its on rails, and only basic maintenance is needed to enjoy it?

Anyone who doesn't think its impressive is either ignorant, jealous, or both.

If I was ballin Id buy 2 so I could have one to drive while the other is at the dealer for warranty repair

The people I've met that owned them had high paying jobs - one was in the oil industry, another owned a bunch of RV dealerships across the country, and yet another owned some sort of big business. They were definitely doing something right.

the C6Z06 is a great a car for the money and at a price point, a normal person can stretch themselves and save up for one someday...where a ZR1 well...really isn't. that has really turned off a lot of people here. the fact of the matter is your get a lot for you money upgrading from a Z06 to ZR1.

to those saying your making the same power as a ZR1...how many hours of road racing can yours take before it pops?
