Default Dyno Results ('03 Z06)...

Hey guys,
had a great time today, it was nice to put some faces to the people on the Corvette forum. Great turnout, I snapped a few pics that I will try and post tomorrow.

Met a bunch of other great folks, and the guys from Werks seemed to be class acts.

Now to the results...
'03 Z06 3300 Mi
-Ziptie Mod-

352/350

The A/F was 11.5:1 The filter was wet from the rain which probably sucked up a few ponies as well. These cars sure don't like for you to mess with the intake or exhaust without tuning. I plan to add a Halltech TRAP and get it tuned in the spring. I would like to dyno 370/360 when it is all said and done. I think it is do-able considering how pig-rich the car is now. Hope to make a low 12 second pass in the spring @ 117 mph .

I will post up my ATAP logs tomorrow after some sleep. At initial glance it looks like o2 readings were around .940 with no KR (last pull) and about 22 degrees of timing up top. First pull I had a weird hiccup with a bunch of false Knock...I think something must have slapped the exhaust, maybe some carbon buildup on the plugs from the rich condition? All in all I am happy. Pretty average, and there is allot left in it with tuning.

Nice graph and numbers. we dynoed a stock 04' Z06, made 2 pulls and they were almost identical, 323 hp 350 tq. The car has only 800 miles on it.

Yeah, they need a couple of thousand miles on them to loosen up...I think the computer is a little conservative the first few thousand miles. The programming in these cars seems to be very sensitive, if Intake Air temp is too high it pulls timing, if it detects low octane gas it pull timing, if coolant temps are too high it pulls timing... My first pull picked up false Knock and instantly pulled 6 degrees of timing

Those look like the #'s we get around here for stock 03 Z06's.Tuning with Edit can bring HP up to 370 very easilly on that stock motor.

Hey Slowhawk,

Do you guys typically see A/F ratios that far off? Any need to be concerned with the plugs @ 11.5:1?

How much power do you think I could get from leaning it to 12.5:1 and leaving the rest of the perameters alone?

No, 11.5-1 isn't bad enough to hurt plugs. On Vette's they see an abuse situation on the dyno and pull alittle timing sometimes. That's why you see a hp change if you back to back the runs.

There will be a little power with upping the A/F but the big gains are timing.
