I had a similar setup: LS1 shortblock, AFR 205's milled to 62cc, LS6 intake, ported TB, long tubes, T56, TSP 233/239 v1 cam. Made 429rwhp/385rwtq on one dyno and 440/390 on another. From 4-7,000 rpm it pulled like a raped ape. Below that from 3-4K was good... but truly at 4K it was like a light switch turned on. 1-3K a bit soggy. Went 128.3mph in a 2950lbs car (with driver/fuel).

The horsepower is good but the torque is on the low side.

Default Same set up but less horsepower

I have the exact same set up but I am making 60 hp less I'm wondering what the problem is I took it to an excellent tuner but I don't understand the numbers. I have a 2001 LS1 motor 5.7 out of a Camaro. I have the Texas speed cam 233/239 cam with .600 lift on both exhausted intake with the 113 lobe separation.

I also have the PRC heads from Texas speed that are 5.3 L stage 2.5
The intake is LS six the throttlebody a stock but ported I have headers in the cold air intake and 42 lb fuel injectors. It is an automatic transmission 4L60E with a stall converter from circle d that flashes at 3200 RPM . After all my work and money I am very disappointed in the numbers I don't know understand is there something different in your build than mine? L

Original post looks like he was on a happy dyno. If you're making close to 400rwhp, you're doing fine. I made 408 to the tire with the 2.5 heads on a 232 cam in a stock LQ4 with a FAST intake. I trapped 119mph with that setup. Take it to the track and see what the numbers are.

Thanks for the reply I was pretty ticked that I wasn't getting higher numbers after I did all the work of installing it and spending the money. It's good to know I'm not the only one.

There are a lot of variables when it comes to chassis dynos. The original poster has a manual car, which will dyno notably higher then an auto. If your converter was not locked, the numbers will look pretty low due to having to go through so much more drive train compared to the manual.
As previously stated, the track numbers can tell the real story. Although, in my opinion the 3200 stall might be on the small side for that sized camshaft.

Seriously, don't stress the dyno numbers. Like mentioned by TSP, what it traps at the track is what matters. As long as you have the right supporting mods and tune it will do well. I run these heads along with cam very similar to the MS3 and it performs very well for what it is

This particular package has a ton of potential in a car that is setup properly. Don't get hung up on dyno numbers. Take it to the track, and report back. I will agree with what John said about the 3200 converter. This setup would be much happier with something in the 3800 range.

The stall was not totally locked up on the dyno. I will test it out on the track this Friday. I have Excessive Auto Sports here in town, Sioux Falls, SD take care of the tuning for me. However I am having trouble getting my cooling fans to stay on. They come on for awhile and then they just shut off as the engine heats up. The engine got a little hot too because of this, maybe 260-280. I don't think any damage was done. Any of you got your LS engine that hot before?

My track time before was only 13 seconds flat, with this set-up I am expecting mid to low 12's. I also am using Mickey Thompson Street Drag Radials on stock rims 255/50/16
