I did i didnt find crap the only one(1) ive seen is the one brought up in this thread...there are tons of M6 cars putting down those #'s but it took the g5x3 cam & AS s2.75 heads to get that...why dont ya just spend the extra grand on those heads and see if you gain 40hp with em...it aint my money

To be honest his car makes good power now. If he put a better converter into the car it would really fly. There is no need to switch anything at this point.

That's what I was thinking too, heck a good converter (locked up), and an ASP pulley would do wonders for the dyno numbers... but even I don't give a crap about dyno numbers in an A4 car.. I don't know if I'll ever post my A4 WS6's dyno numbers

Those numbers unlocked are very good. What were your before dyno numbers. Dont get hyped up by all the dyno BS go and run the car. I dynoed less than that when I was an A4 unlocked and ran low 11's at 122.6mph through the quarter at 3550 pounds and only a 1.7 sixty. Now I am back to the six speed but I think your numbers are very good unlocked.

low 11`s @ 122.6 with a 1.7 60 ft weighing 3550?

wow dood that would be the most impressive car to me ever. Im at the track all the time and I never see it done at that weight and that kind of 60 ft and under 400 hp. If you werent a Mod Id be calling BS. THE #`s Just Dont Add Up!. Im sure you are gonna say you know plenty of people that do it but I personally have never seen anyting like that.
BTW Im not saying you didnt run those times but to me thats very impressive

I dont think it is that impressive. Silver98 with stock bottom end, ARE heads and the same cam I have is running 10.7@126mph through an A4. I think that is impressive

I was running a 200R tranny and TP4400 converter locking in 3rd gear. Ran it back to back about 6 times on two different visits. With the six speed at 3514 pounds went 11.1@124mph 3 times over different visits to the track. (And that was spinning the slicks for 8-10 feet off the line) I powershifted on the 11.1@124mph runs. Typically ran high 11.2's@122mph granny shifting. Shiftlight is 6400rpm

i never dyned cam only...times are in the sig...

it made 340/350 with stock stall, stock cam, and macs and ran a 12.60 @ 112

i figured it put down about 375 unlocked with my old cam but that is just a guess...

i put on hookers lt's, 3 inch duals, the cam (228/230 .571 .573 112) for my 11.8 @ 116 pass...with a no good tune...

if locking the converter will yield at least 10-15rwhp and adding an asp pulley gets me another 5rw that would give me around 420 and i would be happy through an A4...

next thing i go to do is probably pull my tranny and see if the output shaft is bent

Not every car is a dyno queen. Take it to the track and see what happens. 410-420 isn't bad for a set of $1200 heads and a A4 w/a 3200 stall.

BTW Offaxis here is a vid of my car on the VERY FIRST outing to the track last year. (3550 pounds with all seats in the car)

11.2@121.X granny shifting at 6400rpm and spinning for most of first. (Watch the rubber laid down and the car was ALL over the track)

With better granny shifting I hit 122.X mph that day and when I powershifted the car a couple of weeks later went 11.1@124mph (Well 123.95mph)

http://chrispippy.com/car/vids/chris_11_29.mpg

ps- sorry to hijack this thread...

Would you happen to have the video of the low 11 sec pass when you were an auto @ 3550 with the 1.7 60 ft at 122.7 under 400 hp?

230/230 112LSA XER lobes zero advance.

Sorry I have no vids from the track day with the auto. There were several forum members here who saw me run that day with it though. I think Patman was at the track and Jim Mills might have been too. I didn't have the tranny in the car too long (Missed the six speed) I think I had 3-4 track outings with it total

I have also seen another car with 385RWHP unlocked run 122mph as well. You make it sound like some sort of feat but it is really quite average when you know how to setup a car

HEy its not a feat with a 1.5 60 ft and 3350 but

at 1.7 60 ft and 3550 I still think its awsome

Just look at your own et data base on this site there isnt a car listed on there in the low 11`s with a 1.7 60 ft @ any weight running low 11`s
Ill go check the ls1.com list also

None there without a turbo or nitrous. I guess its not as comon or average after all.

Dont think i am hung up on your mph that i dont care about but an a4 in the low 11`s weighing 3550 only doing a 1.7 60 ft with under 400 hp just doesnt happen everyday. Please teach the secret knollege you have to us so we can start running some better ets!!

What is your best ET/mph with your combo? Just curious?

My ET was only in the high 11.3-low 11.4 range on a 1.67-1.76 sixty with the auto. Again spinning (worse than in the vid I posted)

Edwin,

sorry to hear you are disappointed. I feel your pain. My new motor in the '94 didn't put down what I was hoping it would. However, it's brand new, real tight, and I think it will pick up 10-15 RWHP when it's all broken in. That, and I really need long tubes. The old mid-lengths are not up to the new motor.

Get that tranny fixed and come join us at SAR some night.

Im busting your nuts .

Our times are not far apart when you had the auto

My car has gone 11.40 @119.5 60 ft 1.65
race weight 3620
stock rims all around on a 245/50/16 nitto DR
Stock suspension
front sway bar / jack+spare removed removed
I ran This time was with my old h/c combo At the time I dynoed 421 locked converter but im not sure what that would have been unlocked.
Ill also toss in that by the time I drove home 3rd gear was slipping Within 150 miles after that pass 3rd was totally gone.
Its really my fault my car isnt setup to race . I went thrugh 10 tranys over the last year which ate up all of my money ( thousands ) I had to set the car up. Maby If I just went to an flp I wouldnt of had all my problems.

If i can get another 20rw locking the converter, adding a UD, and doing some little things then i wont be dissapointed...

As it looks it seems like it might be putting down what it should...the truth will come when i get back on a dyno and get some locked runs in...

I know the car will perform well...it pulls like a ****...

Mike. Did you auto tap any of the runs? Just wondering what your timing came out at? Mine started at on 19-20 (no idea why), 362 rwph. Did some A/F adjustments, 377 rwph - noticed the timing. Bump it up to 24 and got 405. Bump it up to 26 and got the 412. I have absolutely no idea why mine continues to try to go to the low octane vice the high octane table - I have a question in to Jason at TSP - we have no local help.

Your times and numbers will come around.

David
