Default 228/232 Cam only results w/ graph

I wanted a milder cam that drove like stock, and made a lot of under the curve tq with a nice powerband... and without spinning it to the moon to make power. I went with a Spartan cam... It makes peak power at 6250, drives very easy, and plenty of tq down low. My car is set up for taking corners, not straight line speed. Mods:

228/232 .581 .585 112+4
Pacesetter LTs and ORY dumped
Lid, LS6 intake
Everything else is stock (thats relative to power) with 115k and it has heavy 18s with wide Toyo 315s.

I am very pleased with the results. I am sure there is more left in the tuning, but she sure does run good now.

Pretty good numbers. Who tuned it? Looks like it might benefit from leaning it out some.

Sam tuned it. I don't think its dead on, but pretty close. I am no tuner, though. He also said that the coil packs being loose on my car could cause the waviness, so ill try to get that taken care of aswell.

Not necessarily. With 10% ethanol (most likely what's in the tank if it's in the DFW area), I've found best power with A/F ratio around 12.4:1. With 100% gasoline, it was closer to 12.8:1 to make best power, but you have to adjust fuel to air ratios to match the fuel in the tank. Ethanol has a much lower stoich than gas.

I have always wondered that. My tuner put it at 13.0:1 and let it go.

OP, Great numbers for a cam only car. Spartan suggest that came to me after I did my EPS cam.

Got a graph the the hp/tq the same numbers, that one makes it looks like the tq drops like I rock. Untill I noted the "300" on the left was not tq, at 6200 looks really low. ha
Why not SAE? I rarely see over 1.01 correction, how did the STD compares to SAE in that weather?

Yes, Pacesetter ORY with flowmaster merge.

That is the graph Sam printed out for me. I honestly don't know how/if the SAE numbers differed. Im sure they would have been a little lower but not much. If calibrated correctly its a 2.6% difference I believe. I need to go back so he can touch up my idle, so Ill look into getting an SAE graph.

I am running the same cam with prc 2.5 5.3's, fast 90/90 ported, 85maf and made 430/400. It is a great cam drives like stock until you stand on it. I only deal with occasional rpm drop at lights.

My brother runs a 228/232 xe-r 112lsa cam in his 02 z06. I love that size cam, 426whp corrected for him, cant remember the torque.

Nice setup amd good choice on the cam OP.
