FINE RIDE! Hey you ever come down to the gulf coast for Cruisin The Coast?
If not, try to come next year there was over 7500 cars registered this year.
Yes I was at Atlanta in May. I didn't make LS Fest this year. Friend passed away that week.

I always thought I wanted to do the Cruise the Coast until I saw what some people did to a friend Featured car down there this year. I was shocked.

You may have seen the 67 Mustang call Aviatrix down thee. People scratched and dinged body of her car.

Try to run with 1/4 tank = 4-5 gallon of gas. As you can see car is tail heavy with or without me & and suspension is tuned so that weight on each rear tire is about the same with the 10 lb imbalance on the passengers side on rear with me in the car. Didn't worry with making front weight within 10 lbs of each other. Pain to tune suspension.

You tell me what you would do to tune the suspension to get .1 - .2 quicker.
I am basing the 60' on what my car does. I was pulling 1.8's in a 4200 LB Impala if track prep was good on street tires. The key is double adjustable shocks in my case.

Are your 60's traction limited at this point?

Lack of Traction is not a problem. May be it has too much traction as is. Can't even spin the tires on a prepped track, so I don't even bother trying to warm them up with a burn out. If I ever break the tranny, I'll have the converter re-stalled to around 3,000 RPM to see if that helps 60' time.

I'm retiring car to driving only status, so that may never happen.

Hope to have the below car finished by Spring to see if I can get it in 10's with 34 more horses than current car has but with a weight reduction of around 500 Lbs to 800 Lbs to go with that. I've got a stowage box built behind seats to add ballast weight to rear if I should need to add weight to rear if it spins 200 to 300 tread wear tires to easily.

This one has a tranny shield as well as a Flex plate shield and roll cage.

You need to get that lean spike tuned out... Probably causing knock... Contributing to the premature flattening of torque curve.

TAKE A LOOK AT POST DATES. LOT OF TIME HAD PASSED, THEN THIS THREAD TOOK ON NEW LIFE AFTER A MEMBER WANTED TO KNOW WHO MADE THE WHEELS ON CAR...LoL.

The engine is starving for air is the reason for the premature flatting of both TQ & HP curves. Only have 2.0" of 4.0" tube feeding throttle body and MAF is sitting in the middle of that...LOL Will I redo the air intake system? NO!

Car has already FAR exceeded my expatiation's, an is great for what it was built for, a DRIVER WITH LOOKS.

This a little mean of me, but how many builds on this site can run in High 11's or low 12's with under 400 RWHP & 300 tread wear true street tires, no DR's or slicks with everything wrong I'v done? No high stall, 300 tread wear tires, bad intake system, 1 3/4" home made headers, 3.55 gear, etc?

It's nice to have been lucky. I hope I can repeat it with current build....

wanted to jump in here on this subject. Might not of been at the right spot. If so I apologize. Has the same motor installed in my 98 SS. Had it tuned by James Short which anyone no one here knows that he knows what he's doing. For some reason the car is not making the numbers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Advice or otherwise. Here is a picture of my graph. thanks buddy for letting me jump on your post. Was hoping maybe you were dealing with some of my issues
Thanks a lot

It could be the Dyno Dynamics dynometer. Most are known to read low. Even lower than a Mustang dyno.

I'd say your numbers may seem low if you compare then to what Engine would make on a Dynoject. On a Dynojet, my engine picks up 49 HP, for max RWHP of 409 RWHP.

480 HP at crank, if car is automatic drive train loss of just 20% would be 384 RWHP. 480 HP - 22% Drive Train lost is 374 RWHP.
