Mild budget LQ9 results
keep in mind that the LQ9/LS6 cam was going to be the base of my turbo setup, but plans changed so decided to throw together a budget friendly NA setup.
Junkyard 77k LQ9 out of a 2004 Escalade
used 03 LS6 cam, LS6 springs, Comp 7.425" pushrods
used pacesetter LTs, TSP Y, custom SLP 2OTL catback
new Potz ported TB
descreened MAF
used SLP lid
used LS6 intake
new 3.90 gears
6 speed.
SAE numbers were 378.7/380 with a heat soaked motor. Close enough for me to call it 380/380. This was a very budget friendly build and runs awesome for what it is. Bryan Herter from PCMforLESS did a great job on the tune. Im very happy.

I'm surprised you didn't make more. I just got my budget LQ4 dyno tuned yesterday.
I made 439/371 with the following mods:
Used 6.0 LQ4 from LKQ with 83,000 miles: $1000
Used 243 heads off an LS4 motor: On hand
Mill, valve job, new seals on the heads: $320
Used low mile GM Hot Cam: $180
Head/Cam gasket and bolt said from TR: $190
Brand new Hooker LT headers from PP with gaskets and O2 exts: $420
Used X-pipe: $100
Walker Dynomax bullet mufflers: On hand
Used 8k mile 36 lb SVO injectors: $100
New "take out" LS6 oil pump: $80
New LS2 timing set: $72
Used 4k mile Crane 850-16 lifters: $60
Lightly used 85 MM truck MAF: $80
New NGK TR6 Plugs: $16
M1 oil and filter: $32
Labor for exhaust: $110
Total out of pocket cost: $2760
I can't imagine my Hot Cam and true duals are worth nearly 60 HP, as your LQ9 heads are going to be the equivilant of my 243 heads with your flat top pistons.

How much did you mill your 243's though. A LQ4 with 243's i think puts you around 10.2 comp and a stock LQ9 is 10.1 so thats moot like you said. Also what do you have for a rear end

My numbers are dead on and exactly what I expected. Here is a 6.0 GTO with LTs & CAI made 375.9/372.7. Basically what I have except the LS2 got 10.9:1 vs my 9.9:1. I have the 03 LS6 camevs the LS2 cam which is basically the 01 Z06 cam which would cancel out the CR differences. My gears eat up 7-10rwhp. The GTO also has a dual exhaust vs my single 3".

Alot of LS1 engines with boltons & the LS6 cam produce 375rwhp. Thats usually stock gears & with a UD pulley.
Just for comparison - There are tons of documented C5 Z06's with boltons & a wicked cam such as the MS3, G5X3 etc and they consistenly make in the neighborhood of 430rwhp.
Im not sure how your making 439 with what you listed but that doesnt add up at all. I do know, a basically stock 243 headed 6.0 with a hot cam is not making 439rwhp though.

i may be wrong with my math but your around 60cc chamber lq4 piston volume 6.54, gasket .054, 4" bore, deck .005, stroke 4.125 is right around 11.7 comp. Maybe the added compression with the hot cam and duals did it.

Dyno on which my car was run was just recently calibrated and is within 10 HP of other local DynoJets. I'll admit that the results were about 30-40 HP higher than I was expecting, but the tuner, Jim @ Calspeed in Bakersfield CA, said that these are not unheard-of numbers for my mods. I was surprised, though, by what I think is a low torque reading.
Hell, the 85MM MAF was added after the initial tuning and that mod alone took me from 428 to 439 after the tables were adjusted.
Anyway, I'll guess we'll know when I get it to the track.

Both of your engine's strokes are 3.622" so his LQ4 should be 10.75:1-10.9:1 depending on his Actual Quench vs your LQ9 at 9.9:1, Looks like a Nice Combo at 440rwhp, Maybe a Tidge high OR a well optimised set up

I have a LQ9 with the 243 and the Hot Cam w/Harness, asking $3,500. Seems like a good price. I like the numbers that you put up, for my DD.
