Strong #'s up top, but around town under 3.5K do you notice the loss of HP/TQ for daily driving.....if you were to keep the 3.42's?

Trying to decide between g5x-2, TSP231/237, and 224/224 .581 112 for street action with very little track usage.

I really want a cam that has at least the same HP/TQ on low-end as my stock cam and right now I have the g5x-2 (NIB) sitting at my house

Damn fine numbers man!! I think TSP has a sale going on right now with that cam. I'd love to see what that thing would do with a set of Patriot LS6 style heads on it.

I really don't notice the tq/power loss below 3500. To be honest, I think it actually feels a bit stronger down there. It seems to rev a bit easier, I guess that is because of the titanium retainers. I don't have that many miles on it yet as far as stop and go is concerned. I can cruise at 65 in 6th gear with no problem, it didn't seem to surge much.

I am happy with the 3.42s for now. I can't imagine this thing with 4.10s. I will wait until I break the stock gear to switch.

I don't plan on racing all that much, I got this cam primarily to run on the street, and I can see that it will perform quite well there, even w/3.42s. The G5x2 is a very similar cam, so I would expect similar results as far as driveability.

--

It is a 112 LSA.

Excellent numbers (400+ rocks). This cam is great all around, with great torque characteristics.

Great to see good results! Those guys at Speed Inc. do a great job tuning! Those 231.237 lobes sure seem to work well IMHO!! Looks pretty strong to me!! Congrats!!

This cam has repeatedly made 400+ on stock heads. It is not too much cam for S2 heads.

Sionce what, swapping cams? What cam did you have before, something else is bad wrong if you swapped cams and lost that much HP. What else was changed? What were your numbers before and after? What are you other mods?

I had a 218/222 .562 113 LSA before the cam. The only things changed were the TSP ported oil pump, Rollmaster double timing chain, and the TSP 231/237 cam. My mods are in my sig. I had 405 rwhp before and 383 after. Torque is 386 before and 358 after.

Its probably those heads. J/K

Seriously, something bad is wrong for you to actually have lost power. I am not that good at internet diagnosis, so maybe someone else will chime in, might wanna start a new thread. Right off, maybe the cam is installed or ground wrong, maybe valvetrin issues (valve float or incorrect preload), maybe wanna do a leakdown test to make sure no problems with the shortblock, etc. Good luck with it, Shawn

I'm probably gonna do a leakdown test with it. I was thinking the cam was ground wrong too possibly.

Did Carmen retune it for you? I know Jeremey's car lost power last time he switched cams because his tune was way off. He wound up gaining almost 30 hp after the tune.

I have it with 4:30's and I defintally feel a lose down low. Like when I'm in 6th. gear going 60 it has no pwer at all. But I only made 401 to the wheels.
