difference is 27whp / 33wtq from an intake manifold upgrade on a bolt on GT. Is this about normal or did i dyno low?

Will try and get the dyno sheet scanned and posted soon. Thanks to Champion motors and Cartuning.ca (Kevin)

That doesn't happen on a properly tuned car.

The car wasn't properly tuned on the "before" dyno pull. To get a true data, you'd need to tuned it right before you swapped out to the Fast 102. That's 2 tune sessions.

I've seen a 20rwhp on a bone stock G8 in just tuning so yeah in my experience the FAST intake isn't good for much power on the ls3/l92 square port stuff.

I'd agree, we never see that big of a gain from that intake, swapping from a GM intake, alone.

What makes it overkill?

Its not overkill. Its the GM LS3 intake that is simply just good. Put it on a stock LS1(with LS1 intake) and youll get a big HP bump. Someone did it in this section.

I didnt pick up any hp from the swap on my 505 hp 418 ls3 but I dont sell intakes for a living. I ended up loosing about 6 hp and Thats after the retune. Im not hear to argue about this and yes it was properly tuned etc. I spent the money for the intake and paid for the dyno time and was really pumped to make more power it just wasnt there. But its your money spend as you wish.

I did get a really nice gain T/a with cathedral port heads going to the 102mm.

I have always seen great gains going to fast 90mm intakes too.

Anyway gotta love the magic made on stock cars these days LOL

Just to be clear; its not my car!! I saw this thread from G8 forums! I wish I could slap a 102mm and get 23rwhp, but it wont happen!! My tuner said to me its not worth it; 0-7hp max! I'm not spending 2K on this. If anything is to be done to my intake, its a port job for 200$ from B.E.R.
