Probably going to the track tomorrow.

I think this 231/239 cam may be too big for the 347 + large CC heads though. It's quite lazy under 4500, I think the 224/230 may have gone faster down the 1/4 since I don't have gears.

I may try something smaller, with a wider split. Like a 222/240 or something.

It's fun being the ginea pig sometimes .

The 222/240 will not solve your problem.
I just got that idea from Tick's website, since this is going blower down the line. That was the stage 1 blower cam for ls3 head cars.

Since I fixed my massive KR from a stop, this bigger cam seems much better now. Might just stick with it for now. I mean in the end, what are we talking here, maybe 1 tenth and 1 mph if i put in a more optimal cam? I don't really care about that.

I have a 222/234 111+4 I use a lot in G8's and 5th Gen Camaro's that makes great torque and horsepower.

It would make a great camshaft for you IMO.

Yup, that probably works well.

Looks like Lunati has a line out now for ls3 headed ls1 cars. Looks similar to yours, except the lift is a bit high on the exhaust side.

Wow, that is a lot of valve lift. I like to keep valve lift under .640" if the car will see more than 2-4k a year in mileage.

Gained .2 and 1.5 mph going to the much smaller duration cam. 231/239 to 219/231.

I wonder if adding headers will give me another .2 and 2mph. I guess I won't find out unless I try it because I can't find one other person anywhere with these small bore heads with shorties/manifolds. And no, I am not good at launching an m6 on 3.42 gears.

Your MPH is pretty impressive, you have a lot left in that car if you had some good suspension and tires. I'm running the same time trapping at 113mph with a 1.7 60'' (still dialing it in, looking for a 1.5)

Anything similar to the 222/234 111+4 cam I recommended to Mchicia will work great with these heads and 346 cubic inches.

As this would address the arguement of valve shrouding.

I agree, valve shrouding on the larger bore applications is improved with our heads over a standard LS3 head.

Currently we don't have any test results to show the real gain, but we do have a recent customer from LS1Tech doing an LS2 build with our Stage 1 heads, so I'll be looking forward to see his results.

I'd hate to revive a year old thread but what happened to your website? Or your vendor status??

They seemingly fell off the face of the earth. I sucks because they also sold $200 92 and 102mm TB's that actualy worked good.

the Jegs link says they flow 280cfm with the smaller valve to clear a 3.89" bore running a 2.0" intake valve.

Stock LS3 heads are supposed to flow 330cfm! 50 cfm hit! Ouch.
