That must be with the Bosch 044 pump correct? I know you can upgrade to the A1000 from what I heard. Might take that route or just go with the ECS fuel kit since it comes with it.

I'd stick with the Bosch 044 for sure.. Way more reliable then an A1000 and always holds a good prime with the right check valve. If you are using it for a secondary pump, it is easily enough for 1000+ on gas.. (Not e85).

My car made 901 rwhp SAE with a LPE in tank 225lph and the bosch 044 (with a KB BAP on it) and I was only at 82% IDC on some FIC1000 injectors. I EASILY had enough fuel supply for 1000rwhp SAE, probably more with bigger injectors.

My system is dead nuts reliable. No pump/fuel heating, no stupid PWM control needed for the pump, no priming issues when used and boost referenced only.

***NOTE***
I was also using a dual nozzle Alky control kit with M15/m10 nozzles so that accounts for some fuel supply also.

so why does a and a say 850 rwhp with the bosch 044? I would love to not have to change it out, but I thought I needed to. Hey Martin, what is the current IDC of the vehicle this thread is about?

I would keep the stock pump and use the A1000 or 044 as the secondary and keep my alky control kit hooked up. I'm running dual m10 nozzles. Have FIC 80's and its at 55% duty cycle. Depending on how things turn out I may upgrade them if needed. I'm a while out from a build so nothing concrete but I know it won't be a A1000 intank that's for sure.

Ring lands separated yet on this motor?...

The A&A kit will stave off detonation, but 700-800whp on stock rods and pistons is a ticking device (pardon the pun).

I greatly enjoy reading the write-ups Tick posts. Martin and gang are very informative and helpful to this community. But I have seen first hand what happens when LS-customers get greedy with boost on stock internals...LS3s especially. Of all the stock NA LS motors, LS3s are definitely the pit bulls! Toughest in the gang, but damn it's catastrophic when they come unglued... :-(*

Keep us posted! No shame - your customer asked for more! He'll eventually learn what we all do in this racing game...

And again, no disrespect intended to the Tick gang! Just exchanging input.

Not sure if you read every post yet but Martin already said that he told the customer that it was on borrowed time. Im not saying this in a smart *** way it just sounds like you missed what Martin said.

As long as the customer understands that it will let go at some point and is willing to do a build fine. I've seen him post on corvette forum and he knows the risk. I'm at 741 on the stock bottom end. I know it won't last forever but until it lets to i'll enjoy it. When the time comes for a build so be it cause I want to do it eventually anyway.

That's a good CR to shoot for. What has are you using. I use the Sunoco 98 or Shell URT 105 if I can find it to mix in.

I wasn't trying to pee in anyone's cereal. Just sucks to see a good LS motor get fragged into oblivion. You could sell the shortblock in current trim and make a good $2500 to go towards your motor build instead of waiting for it to grenade itself. That's my only point of contention with guys who overboost or overspray SBEs. But if money is only paper for ya, have at it!

It could also prove us all wrong and be that one Herculean exception that refuses to die or break like Rasputin...

He has been told by us more times than all 10 of us in this shop can count on our hands and feet that it wont last forever. He knows this, but wants to push the boundaries of this hobby which we all do or would like to do. He will have us build him the best motor money can buy when the time comes as Rich does not skimp on anything.

Matt(one of our techs) actually started taking out his entire interior to be sent off and custom upholstered and stitched to his liking. I'm sure it will be very nice and tasteful along with setting off the car even more than a 800rwhp stock bottom end does for a car like this!
