Default LS2 RX7/Stock 243's/FAST92/Street Heat Stg. 2 450rwhp

Let me start off by saying I LOVE this car that this set-up is in. I'll take pictures of it tomorrow as all the shop lights are off and everyone has gone home for the day.

Stock LS2
Stock 243's
Stock compression
Fast92
Long tube swap headers
4" exhaust into 4" canister muffler(actually sounds awesome)
LS1 Street Heat Stage 2 Camshaft 231/238 .617"/.585" 113+3

The average power this camshaft makes is INSANE!!! It just carries forever! This car has trapped over 103mph in the 1/8th as well!!! The torque is what has me sold! A C6 Z06 would get straight walked on with this set-up.

Martin - It's hard to beat 400 lbs/ft.+ from 3,800 rpms onward...that much power and torque in that little car has got be a handful for sure! Got any video?

This car feels like a rocket ship on steroids with all that torque.

Yes sir it is! No videos yet, I'll have an idle video later. Guys this cam only has 8.5 degrees of overlap@.050" so it is VERY docile, especially in a 6.0. Extremely streetable and makes the big numbers everyone wants!

I would have to say that the RX7 drive-train is much lighter, much shorter, and much smaller than a GTO drive-train. He has a much smaller differential, much shorter drive shaft and much less weight to turn in terms of axles and wheels.

That combined with the Fast92 is what is driving the numbers up versus your car Matt. Also his cold air intake set-up I would say is slightly more efficient than yours. The exhaust lay-out is probably a little better on this car as well. I've never liked the GTO's exhaust lay-out. Too restrictive IMO.

That said, and I have said it for a long time now and it seems to be proven pretty relevant here; that the stock LS2 intake sucks and is probably THE worst factory intake made. It may be just slightly better than a stock LS1 intake....but not by much.

I think the Fast is helping out about 15-20rwhp and the drive train is doing the rest in the power gain department.

Well that all makes sense. Is it an FD or an FC?

Nice numbers, my GTO made 441/419 SAE with a 231/235 cam and a ported stock intake. I bet that car moves out pretty good considering its probably about 3000lbs or less.

awesome results! I wonder if you could have milled the heads any to get around 11.25:1 - 11.5:1 CR.

Man, I wish our dyno was that generous!

With this cam, you most certainly could. I probably wouldn't take them any smaller than 62cc's though from the factory 64.7cc.

He has 1x7/8" headers. I also made a mistake, it has 4" exhaust on the car not 3".

Yours being an auto it will never make these kind of numbers, BUT it will run damn good at the track! I also think the dyno you use is pretty stingy for a Dyno Jet based off your power numbers.

Glad you like it so much Les! I had a feeling that cam was going to be a great fit power curve wise, and overall power output wise for your set-up. Torque for days in that light *** car has got to be a handful on street tires and must feel like a rocket ship. Hopefully one day I can be lucky enough to drive this little space shuttle.

Here are some pictures of the car that Les gave me permission to post....maybe he will post an idle clip up for us if we're lucky......right Les.....?

Before Les had it painted:
