$500 for a full dynotune is about average...

I got a good deal a year or so ago...$400 for a full dynotune, and updates on tuning are free...except for dynotime...

i paid $100 for a full re-tune...

Its all part of owning an Ls1, the first time someone tells you the price of a dyno tune and you have sticker shock.
I would put a set of long tubes on before I had a tune done. I picked up 27 rwhp with a set of long tubes and a tune.

wait wait wait! I'm in San Antonio and if you were quoted $500 for a tune i'm pretty sure you're talking about Murillo tuning it.(Murillo Motorsports took over team extreme's shop & dyno after leaving dynotex) He does a really good tune, but there is also another choice here in SA. I don't know if your famliar with Dynotex or not, but there is a gentleman there named Corey who has been making a name for himself around here lately for doing badass tuning on ls1's. I know all these people personally, and when its time for a tune to me, its going to Corey at Dynotex. I believe he is charging $300-350 for a tune, and $100 for a retune. PM me if you have questions.

Edit- If your just looking for a place to dyno, Dynotex is only like $55 for two pulls + A/F

you know its funny but after this post started last nite, I found an older dyno post with a dynotex sheet on it so I looked it up and they sound very reasonable. Do they have a mustang or dynojet?

Yes Corey at Dynotex is badass. 300 for a tune. Murrillo even sends the cars over to him he cant get right.

Edit- If your just looking for a place to dyno, Dynotex is only like $55 for two pulls + A/F
sounds like a fosho... deal!!~!, be there in a few weeks wanna baseline before the cam goes in.

40k on a dyno 15k for LS1edit and laptop, and other misc crap, and time spent, what is it not ok for someone to make a living? not to mention a shop to put all this stuff in, business insurance, eletric bill, phone bill, overhead, etc. and 500 dollars I am pretty sure it NOT just for a dynotune, there are several other things needed to do to a pcm to get it ready just to dyno. lets not forget about the time the tuner has to spend with customer support.

also remember, to get a true dyno readout of your actual rwhp the only way to go Is a MUSTANG all others are just blowing smoke up your ***.also a little trick that tuners do Is lockup your converter during a pull and then print it out and wahla! 20 extra hp. be careful.!!

guess you didnt catch the article in the differences of a mustang and dynojet. Both are accurate, with diffrent parameters.
