Default 408 pt88 dyno

sup guys didnt get a chance to grab the printout but dynoed the camaro today at a local dyno day. 14-15psi (gate pressure) made 766rwhp through the locked 4l80e. previously made 760rwhp at 13 psi with the t56.

made 880rwhp 857 torque on 19-20psi again locked up. im super happy considering its a rather low reading mustang dyno and heavy *** 4l80e. was only 10 degrees timing as well (computer pulled 5 for knock, yikes haha). not sure if the knock was real though.

pump gas 91 octane with meth injection.

quick details

afr 225 heads
victor jr intake
pt88 turbo
4l80 circle d triple disk lockup

Nice, e85 would rock this setup. My buddies 402 LS2 L92 headed procharger F1A did 870/790@14psi with 17* timing, you'd be able to hit 1000 I bet with a couple more psi and timing on it

compression is 8.5:1

yea man id love to have some e85 haha but maine sucks. i mean ill probably get a dual nozzle meth kit this winter. i added 2 degrees of timing to a blown ls1 earlier this summer on the fly 14-16 and it instantly gained 30 rwtq and hp. was funny to see the bump in the curve. i know if i could put 16 degrees in this thing it would have to be 50hp atleast over the 10 degree number

Nice numbers! Get that timing issue down and you could probably definitely see 900rwhp.

Is it still the same motor I built in 04? Or did you freshen it up?

same one bud! just clicked over 41k miles on the car. i cant wait to lay down the power at the track. ran 6.52 spinning and 111mph on 14psi with the 4l80. i took out the small tial green spring before this dyno and put in a big precision blue (18psi rated one) i had kicking around. makes boost so much faster now. boost went past 20psi easy as well i had to pedal the car on the dyno to hold the boost around 19-20. saw probably 23 psi on the pull when i started to let off the gas haha

That's crazy you are getting KR with 75* IATs and meth... Maybe throw a bit more fuel at it and see if it helps... 11.7 isn't lean but..... Something is causing it to KR.... Maybe the sensitivity/decay needs to be adjusted on the knock sensors.

Killer numbers through an 80e... And going from 10* to 16* is gonna be WAY more then 50hp......

You could make 950 rwhp with your combo at 16* and 22 psi...

Nice job on it!

thanks guys.

yea ajrothm i dont know if the knock is real or a sensitivity issue. either way im planning to optimize this setup for around 15psi and getting good launches and ****. only has a 6 point so no need to stress everything with full power all the time haha

also wanted to update and say i found out i chunked a small piece off the compressor wheel during the pull. i took the filter off because i hated the intake tube and figured it would be ok on the dyno. first pass made like 750 rwhp on 15 psi SPRING ONLY. second pass it made 30rwhp less. 3rd pass i turned up the controller and it only made 12 psi... remember it makes 15psi spring only lol... assuming it broke on the 2nd pass and something possibly got stuck in the bov before the intercooler. so i turned the controller up some more and then the boost skyrocketed to over 20 psi which is why i had to pedal it on this run. im guessing the small piece of compressor got blown out on the prior run so it made all kinds of boost this time lol.

still has 50-60psi oil pressure on idle and the fact that it made 880rwhp at 5300rpm through a 4l80 when i let off the gas tells me it should be fairly happy still.. doesnt smoke or anything. i am gonna change the valve springs this winter for peace of mind though there doesnt seem to be any float shown on the dyno. car just topped 41k miles . you guys did the turbo and 408 with like 28k or so miles on the car right?

i guess when fred had it at the track one time the intake tube you guys had fell off and he ran it over. well when i bought it he had some pvc for an intake tube which is why i took it off haha

Hate to bring an old one up from the dead-but how was the PT88 on the street with this motor? Assuming this was a H cover with a 83m/.96 turbine.

Any track numbers with the T56/Auto? How was it off the line?

its pretty responsive really. about the same as my 5.3 and pt7675.

i never got a good track time with it just kills the tires... 6.41 is the best @ 116mph 1/8th mile thats on 16psi. it easily has low 6's high 5's in it with these tires i have now. i had one pass that i know was easily a 6.1ish pass but i break boosted through the staging beam and didnt realize it. .080 reaction time but left as i normally would so i gave up ~.3 tenths... that was the 6.41. hardest launch the car has ever done but showed up as a 1.7x 60 ft haha. the next pass the motor leaned over... the 10 year old 3 layer gasket finally gave up and it burned through to the water jacket. giving the motor a freshening right now.
