Talking '14 Silverado... Turbocharged by Vengeance Racing

No explanation necessary for WHY we would build a turbocharged '14 Silverado, but it is worth noting that this truck shares many architectural, mechanical, and electrical features with the '14 Stingray () and what we learned here will be applied to future projects...

Not that this is all about the tech, this truck flat out RUNS and the single Comp Oiless CT43 Billet Ball Bearing 67/70 Turbocharger made massive gains on the dyno and street on just 6psi, picking up over 152-rwhp and 169 lb-ft of torque!

Turbo System:
Comp Oiless CT43 Billet Ball Bearing 67/70 Turbo .96 AR
Tial MV-R 44mm Wastegate
Tial Q Blow Off Valve
All Stainless Steel hot side
All V-band connections
DEI Lava rock heat wrap
Bell 12 x 18 x 3 Intercooler core- VR custom fabricated endtanks

Let's back up a second and start with how this truck started life. Our customer arrived at the shop with 430 miles on the odometer and was interested in having us fabricate a custom turbo system... Who were we to argue?! BUT, for the sake of science, we decided to dig into the truck in stock form first, then we tuned it, then we added a custom Comp Cams camshaft, then a stall converter, and then we finally built the turbo kit. Why? Science.

The results were in-line with our expectations... with the truck performing very well at each stage.

Stock: 314/340 vs. Tuned 318/357:

Tuned: 318/357 Tuned vs. Camshaft+Converter+Tune: 333/362

Camshaft+Converter+Tune: 333/362 vs. Turbo+Cam+Converter+Tune: 466/509

Of course, we ran out of fuel supply at 6psi but we'll be installing a new camshaft with an upgraded fuel pump lobe soon and then we will turn up the little 67/70 to see what it will do. Stay tuned!!!
