Default C5z

My C5Z's build is this:
434 Cubic Inch LS6- Darton Wet Sleeve
Cartek Stage 5 Heads- 265 CC- 2.25 Intake/1.7 exhaust CNC Ported
W/ Ferrea Hollow Stem Steel Intake/ Sodium filled exhaust/ Brand New Springs
Comp Cams- 236/259 & 623/623 in @ 112 LSA
Wiseco 4.155 inch pistons = 11.5:1 Compression
Eagle Crank 4 inch Stroke/ H beam Rods 6.125 inch
2 Gallon A.R.E. 3 Stage Dry Sump- Stainless Lines to everything
A/N Fittings for Everything
Runs on a fixed speed density tune not MAF

Intake:
Fast 102 intake/ TPIS 90 MM TB
Carbon coupler
Vararam Ram Induction System.

I know the 90MM TB is hurting it and the cam is a little "soft". It made 563rwhp and 552rwtq. I wanted to see the thoughts on this.Tune was by Lethal Racing in Laffayette, LA. and what I should be considering for a cam. I can go up to a .651+ in lift. also I am considering a 4.25" crank to get a few more cubes(468ish).

Fantastic build so far!

PM me this week and I'll give you some experienced feedback on crank stroke and the trade-offs of adding displacement with stroke rather than bore. There's more physics at play than you may realize. I can explain better in PMs. Bottom line is adding cubes this way can negatively impact your overall rpm curve and your useable powerband. HP and torque are important, but total area under curve and overall extent of powerband (more rpm per gear to pull) are the most important animals to consider. I can prove this with some experiences and past builds, so you know I am not talking out of my *** like a keyboard advisor.

Also thanks for the military service. Father was a 22-yr marine. Sempre Fi! -mcs

This gets me excited! My ERL 434 is about to be completed! It should be finished up in early January.

Thoughts: before I changed out anything on the bottom side, I'd swap heads and cam for sure. If you made it an LS7 style topside I think you'd be over 600 wheel. Mine is going to be an LS7 top end, and I'm looking for power in the high 500's - to low 600's depending on what cam I go with. Both cams I'm looking at are Katech cams, either the Torquer 110, or the K501. Both lift higher than your current cam, but durations are shorter, creating less overlap. This said, the K501 in the Ls7 has been proven to be a 580+ wheel cam with ported LS7's.

definitely doing a cam and intake FIRST. retune, and then see how it looks from there. I know the car prefers lift upwards of .651 . The TB is the biggest thinig I believe, you could tell up around 4.5k rpm that it was being choked. I suspect that the intake and cam swap will put me over the 600 mark, which will be an absolute monster since race wieght with me in the car is 2958( my wt. is 165).

What heads? Those valve sizes shouldn't fit in a cathedral port head, I'm guessing LS7?

From what I've seen, the LS7 stuff doesn't need big durations. The guys who've figured this out are making 560-570rwhp with cam only LS7's. I would agree that the throttle body could be holding you back a bit. The cam may need to be reconsidered as well.

The cartek heads are based off the LS7, to be honest the specs we have a "reasonable quess". cartek will not release the info since the heads are still semi-classified in the industry. The CAM and TB will be replaced in the very near future, depeding on how that goes I will then be doing true LS7 race heads.
