Default C5/Kooks/Borla/Circle D/Cam only

Here are some great results that came from a shop in our dealer network. NorthShore Auto Clinic was able to coax some very nice gains out of a C5 Corvette the other day.

The car was brought in bone stock with nothing but a cold air intake installed. Justin@NorthShore then got to work installing Kooks 1x7/8" headers, Borla "ATAK" exhaust and one of our custom cam packages.

Cam specs are 233/236 .619"/.578" 113lsa. The cam is paired with BTR Platinum springs and Comp Cams hardened chromoly push rods.

The car is equipped with a Circle D 3600 billet lock up converter as well and was locked during the pulls.

SAE corrected:

Uncorrected:

Plans are to take it to the track after purchasing a set of drag radials and gunning for 10's!

BTW it looks like these runs were recorded on our dyno, but they were not. I had my customer send the Win Pep files to me via email so I could upload them in our customer database to compare to other camshaft installs we've performed here at our shop.

Dante,

I've been using this cam a lot lately with great success. It's driving manners are very nice and it delivers massive torque across the curve.

What were your cam specs?

Nice numbers. Just picked up a 04 A4 c5 and looking at diff cam for it. How is this cam on the street? I did a big cam on my 02 Z and just hated how it drove on the street. So i am looking for a great street cam for this car. Would this cam work with a stock stall conv? Are you using a underdrive pulley and are you running cats on this car? Love the torque and hp of your setup. Def looking forward to seeing yr track times!

This cam drives very well on the street with good tuning. IMO it creates enough vacuum with good tuning to use with a 3200 converter, but not with a stock converter.

To use a stock converter, the biggest cam I would recommend would be 225/226 .612/.570 114+3. If you wanted a tad more top end above 5000rpm in trade for some torque between 3000-5000 the cam could be ground with a 228 exhaust lobe instead.

It would work very well.

That said, with what you have I would be more inclined to run this camshaft instead:

237/240 .622"/.588" 112lsa

Not in a million years. If it does I'd be a monkey's uncle.

With your combo, that cam would be a rocket ship. You have the compression, you have the port volume and valve sizing to allow that cam to shine.

Easy high 9's all motor on pump gas with that set-up in a fox body.

My cam specs are 232/238 .595/.605 114+4 I wonder how it'll do through an M6 plus a couple more bolt ons... Those are some sweet numbers. Can't wait to install mine.
