Default 08 Vette Vortech V3si and Kooks

Last pull of the day 601/553 SAE.

3.6 pulley on a v3s trim. Kooks longtubes with cats. Stock everything else power wise.

Was seeing about 8 psi at 6500. Crap 91 gas and a fair amount of 50/50 water/meth on top. My glory pull was 608 with 15 degrees and it only picked up a couple from the much safer feeling 13.5 I left it at. Didn't figure out until I got home one of my vacuum caps pushed off before or during the dyno session. Good news is a picked up about half a psi. Bad news is now my tune is off again. Oh well back to the dyno after I chase down my other gremlins. Hopefully see a few more ponies.

Don't beat me up on numbers. Yes there were some other little pieces involved. Yes my headers/clutch are not included in that cost. I've got under $2k in the kit. I wanted to hit 600rwhp and have a car that drives stock outside of boost.

08 LS3 - never had the valve covers off.
V3si with 3.6 pulley - used $750
A&A Bracket 6 rib - used $300
Intercooler - procharger used $200
HD Green Belt - ebay $25
60 Deka injectors - used $200
Filter - A&A $75
Air Bridget - A&A $109
Boost a pump - used $150
Hoses, couplers, all cold pipeing - ebay $150ish

For the people that are trying or considering building your own kit. This took me a year to source parts at these prices. For the cold side if I ever do another one off again I will by the A&A parts. The few dollars saved in the long run is nowhere near worth the trouble of piecing together Goodyear hoses and never getting the intercooler where you want it.

And just the sheet. Red is new. Blue was headers/tune only.

Only 8#s with a 3.6? something isnt right ..pretty sure you have a boost leak(as you said you found some loose ends). I see 11.7# with that combo.. also why 50/50 and not straight meth?

What exhaust do you have Devilish34? I would believe 11# on a stock manifold stock cat car - I have yet to see over 10 with a free flowing exhaust system on any car with a 3.6 or 3.8 pulley.

I definitely had a leak. The line on the intake just behind the TB came off. I now see maybe another .5psi. I would bet money my intercooler is more restrictive than the new A&A intercooler also.

50/50 because I wasn't crazy about putting something flammable in my WW tank. I will hit up the local distributor before going back to the dyno and see if there is a big difference.

Seems most safe tuned 3.8 pulley ls3 cars are making 550-560. I thought 600 was pretty decent for a bolt on car.

NVM - Devil has an ls2 car. Of course you see more restriction with the same pulley. And looking at dyno numbers we both made the same peak hp just don't look at torque. Taking everything else out of the equation seems the little v3 with a 3.6 pulley flows around 600hp worth of air.

1 7/8" Kooks no cats stock mufflers. LS2 spraying 100% meth 93 octane 17*. Made 618/528 on a 90* night with stock wheels and 644/580 with my drag pack on a 45* day .. I had a coupler loose once and it only made 7.5#.. Fixed it and she hit 11.7@ 6500..

yeah the 243s dont flow as well and motor displacement. I still think you are leaving 2-3# on the table with that leak.

I would love to go back and see another 25 between leak and 100% meth.

You have a separate tank for your alky control kit don't you?

Your air fuel ratio is 13.5? That's pretty lean especially for a FI car.

Thanks.

Silver... where in the world do you see 13.5 air/fuel?

I dialed it back in to 604/555 yesterday. Up half a psi and down 2 degrees. I made pulls and tuned on a bunch of cars yesterday so didn't have time to really abuse mine. I'm good at that point anyways. Don't want to be meth dependent.

Those are some kick *** prices on parts. Grats. I'm slowly piecing mine together as we speak. Doing a custom A&A style mount. Similar location but lower with a helical D1SC and treadstone vertical IC.

Solid numbers. My friend Slo-Poc had that headunit on his car before he upgraded to a D1SC. His car made 550-575 with a 3.8 then he went ZR1 cam and 3.6 and made 638. Forgot his boost numbers on that setup but it was around 10-11psi.

Thanks guys. If I ever have a reason to pull the front apart I might do a small cam. I really like 600hp in a stock driving package so far.

Seems to be the sweet spot. More and you get into fuel systems and more driveline issues. Already having to deal with wheel/tire issues.

Sleeper vette? lol.
