Today i had my motor broken in and tested at Westech on their superflow 902 engine dyno. I always wanted to do this, and it was so cool to see/hear it screaming away.
Ive been lurking here for a few years and found loads of info. Thank you all for that. The motor is going into a full weight/stock geared c5 z06.
Specs:
RED sleeved 5.3L block (4.125")
Stock ls7 crank and rods
Auto tec pistons (11.4 cr)
WCCH stage 2 brodix LS7 heads. (Del west ti int., Rev ext.)
Katech torquer 110 cam, morel street lifters, ls7 rockers (comp trunion upgrade)
Stock ls7 intake (ported)
Holley 90mm throttle body.
Stock ls7 fuel rail and injectors.
Kooks dyno headers, 1-3/4" step to 1-7/8"
Magna flow mufflers
Ls7 oil pan with Aviaid baffle.
Katech oil pump (dry sump)
The motor tuned right up. In fact after the ring seating cycle, the motor was tuned and done in about 30 minutes. According to the tuner, it responded predictably to changes. It did 13 pulls but only the last few were revved past peak power, and they never exceeded 6400. The printout below was at 29 degrees total timing.
Here is the final pull:

I gathered the parts with the help of a friend for a couple of years. The parts were assembled into a turn key motor motor by RPM motors specialties in Santa Clarita, Ca. This is my first project like this and RPM was great. Charlie and Austin were very patient with me, and I had a lot of questions. They will be completing the install into the car when i can scrape up the dough.
Westech was the same. Absolutely great experience. I know my way around a motor basically, but im no propeller head when it comes to the finer points. They let me get in there and help install the engine onto the dyno and all that goes along with it. That seemed atypical in my experience. I had so much fun! Steve, Eric, and Troy, thank you.
