Default Cam only dyno #'S....why so low

Crane vinci 216/224 551 115, lid, bbk shorties ya ya maybe the problem?? With flow master 40.

321 hp at around 5k
330 tq
Starts dropping off hard at 5500.

I'll post dyno graph after bit, guy at the dyno says it's my exhaust is crap. Said to change to LT and duals and I'll see another 40hp..??

Sure the cam is ground correctly and/or not advanced a tooth on the chain?

Was it tuned or just dynoed? What was the air/fuel and timing?

Auto or manual transmission? If auto what converter and was it locked?

Yellow ls6 springs, auto, stock converter. He just dynoed a stock 01 and was 300

Not sure if those springs are going to be good enough for the cam, if you can post the graph it might help. If it has dips and waves up top you might be floating the valves.

Headers and decent exhaust will definitely help a lot...I would expect no less than 25rwhp from them (and likely 30+). Even more if you mean it has nothing but a weld in flowmaster on stock exhaust pipe or poorly bent shop pipe that's anything less than 3". You either want large single with a good merge collector in the Y pipe or at least 2.5" duals.

Past that you just might not have much left to look for, it's a smaller cam with a heavy converter. My current setup only made 390rwhp unlocked and that's with a good mid size cam, cleaned up 799 heads, FAST intake, and 3" duals.

I used to have a 230/224 cam on a 111+3 and with the ls1 intake, headers, 2.25" duals with dual cutouts, stock converter unlocked, mail order tune. Made about the same as you on a dyno where bolt on ls1 cars were also making similar. Car picked up a lot with FAST intake (your ls6 intake should be fine), 3" duals, underdrive pulley, and dyno tune.

Graph is smooth, ill post it in alittle bit if I can figure it out lol. I looked at the shorties and at the collector it's like 3" but the flange for the stock converter is 2.5" so there is a 1/4" flat spot all the way around at the bottom of the header, wtf....

If those are stock cats, they could also be holding you back a good bit. Sounds like your tuner is right, the car needs full exhaust from head to tailpipe.

The power is peaking way too low; you have something wrong. A stock engine doesn't peak that low and I doubt the stock manifolds and exhaust are better than what's on there now. I would make sure the cam is installed correctly on the intended centerlines, and that the clutch/converter/trans isn't slipping its *** off.

Thats a lot like what my dyno graph looked like when the clutch slipped.

Well I double checked the cam alignment even after spinning it over. The tranny feels strong, and the tuner never said it was slipping... Idk guess I can check it again.

Don't have any stock LS1 graphs at this computer, but IIRC, it climbs right into the limiter through the factory exhaust OEM 500mi no mods.

Your peak is too low.

Converter was locked, he said if the cam was off a tooth it would of shown up...

Could be ground completely wrong.

What about clogged cats? Does anyone know what that would do to the graph?

Have you datalogged it?

Look at KR, total timing, and pre-cat O2's at WOT from 3000-6000rpm.

I just talked to him again, he said everything looked great....I guess. He said to stop thinking about it and get some LT's on there and throw away the flowmaster. Lol so crap idk I'll try it....

I've seen people on here pick up 20-30hp ditching the chokemaster for another catback, and you don't have longtubes, change both those and I bet another 40+hp

I've heard the same. If everything is installed correctly and you don't have any valve float, those stock manifolds and crapmaster are holding you back big time. Just get a dynomax bullet muffler and swap it with the flow master. Ran me $55 for mine and I love it.
