H/C LS6 from T/A-->C/10!

Default H/C LS6 from T/A-->C/10!

Ok...so I followed through with my crazy idea and I took the motor from my M6 T/A, and put it in my '71 C/10 with a 4L60E. Long story short, the motor made 446/426 in the T/A, thru a T56 and 10 bolt, 3.73 rear gear. Now, same exact motor, plus a healthy dose of compression, nets 380/382 in my 2wd truck with the BUILT 4L60E and 12 bolt/3.73.

My first impression...screw dyno numbers...this thing feels strong! My buddy says the shop's dyno is messed up, but I've never had it dynoed anywhere else.

I have no real intent on bitching, since I'm not disappointed, nor am I bragging. Just throwing this out there.

A bit of performance is left on the table here, what with the motor being built for the car, and not the truck. It runs great though, so I'm trying to convince myself not to mess with it any more. This thing rocks!

Before, it went thru 1 3/4 Pacesetter LT, ORY, Corsa cat-back. Now, it's hooked up to the dual exhaust that was on the truck, but without a crossover (working on that) and thru Doug Thorley 1 7/8 swap headers (mid length.)

I believe the true duals are 2.5"

I say as long as you're happy with it, then who cares about the numbers. The "butt" dyno is the most important one anyway.

I've still got a 2 piece drive shaft, which concerns me. The speed shop told me my motor would smoke that drive shaft if I tried launching on slicks. Some people have had better experiences.

We all know the 12 bolt and 4L60E is eating power, but I was surprised to see a 66/42 drop. Also, given the old setup tapped out around 6,700, this one taps out at around 6,000. The motor just doesn't wanna rev like it once did, in the car.
