Finally got my cam installed...

LS2 A4 with kooks headers, vararam, and a thunder racing cheater v2 cam. Made 405hp/385 (std).

Idle. Not quite as "sleeper" as I thought it was going to be.

Not sleeper enough? What RPM is that idle? Raise it 75-100rpm and see if it mellows.

What are the specs on that cam? Numbers seem a little low even for STD correction.

And if you want it to be more sleeper sounding, up the idle and throw a bunch of timing at it.

The whole idea of that cam with odd numbers was to be a "stealth" cam yet perform well. If you are just looking at duration and LSA, yes it could look odd, but if you look at valve events, there is more to the story.

Compare it's valve events to a TR224 which was a very popular cam in the day.

Stealth if installed on a 117icl
IVO - 10 ATDC
IVC - 44 ABDC
EVO - 52 BBDC
EVC - 2 BTDC
Overlap - (-12*)

TR224 installed on a 112icl with a 114lsa
IVO - 0 ATDC
IVC - 44 ABDC
EVO - 48 BBDC
EVC - 4 BTDC
Overlap - (-4*)

Couple things to note.
IVC point is the same at 44*
EVO is sooner than the TR224 helping clean out the spent gasses, as time has a bigger impact than lift for exhaust.
Overlap is kept low to reduce reversion and chop

That 214* intake duration with .601 lift is pretty aggressive, I wonder what the .200 duration looks like between the TR224 and the Stealth. I'd bet they are closer than one wold think.
