Ok guys got my car together and not sure what's next. She made descent numbers but looking for pointers for future improvements. I also am setup for nitrous at the moment just not ready to spray her just yet. Looking at starting with a 150 dose and stepping up from there. Tuner said I may need more intake due to drop off at 6200 rpm's but I didn't think the fast 92 would hold me back that much. Expected to pull to 7k... Did I go with too big of heads or need a different cam maybe? Not sure what to think but please give me your thoughts. Thanks!

lock the converter and bump up the compression to 11.7 and you will have over 500 hp with an auto that's awesome! A lot more hp and rpms with a victor intake like he said too! I would love to know what you can do at the track NA as is.
I agree bump the CR up to 11.5 - 11.7
Those are respectable numbers for going thru a unlocked 4L80e & a S60 rear.

How would 11.7 CR effect reliability on pump gas and spray? Also I considered the Victor intake but I'm not really wanting to change the hood to accomidate it right now. I can't wait to get her to the track. Aside traction issues what would you estimate my 1/4 or 1/8 mile runs to be. No trans break and wieght is 3700.

Thanks 30th t/a. But same question as above will that CR affect reliability using pump gas and nitrous?

I run 11.5 compression with a 100 shot on 93 and have no problems whatsoever

With your cam, no. I agree, bump the compression up. And with those heads gaskets, did you say 2 per side?? If so your quench is dangerous. Originally Posted by dkeets

If you went with 1 0.051" gasket and have the stock .007" out of the hole deck height, you'll be right at 12.1:1 SCR. Pump gas and a good tune should be fine with your cam. And should lay down more power and be LESS likely for detonation.
hrcslam, sorry that was 1 gasket per side and they are .054" thick. Not sure exactly what the measurement would be out the hole but how much CR could I gain from just changing to a thinner gasket at this point? I know I could have my heads milled but trying to avoid that work if possible...

Numbers are good for an unlocked converter and an 80e.. Forget about dynos, get it on the track.. It will go mid 10s NA.
I wouldn't worry about bumping the compression... Too much work for the minimal gain... I'd just put the kit on it and spray 150hp on top of that 10.7 comp.. It will be perfect. If the converter is right, it will go 9.80s or better on spray.
Not sure Id spray it on pump gas... If you do, make sure to pull 4-5* of timing out on a 150 shot.

Thanks ajrothem! Those times are what I'm hoping for but I know I still have a lot to work out with traction first. I plan to pull timing with the spray but I also have been tossing the ideal around about bumping up to E85. I'm just not sure how readily available it is around Fort Worth.
