Default 03 Z06 Tick SNS Torquemax Stage 3 Cam & PCM of NC Tune

Finally got done building my stock 25K mile Z06 to the below. The guys at PCM did a great job. Really drives nice and this friggin cam is doing some work. Was a fun project.

447 rwhp / 406 rwtq. Stock heads, TB and LS6 intake

Mods: Tick Performance SNS Torquemax Stage 3 cam, Brian Tooley .660" lift springs and titanium retainers, 7.4" pushrods, SLP 25% under drive crank pulley, Airaid cold air intake, Fast 36lb injectors, Kooks 1 7'8" Long tube headers, 3" X pipe no cats connected to the stock titanium mufflers.

Sounds like heaven. Thanks for the recommendation Martin!

Impressive results for the mods! Any "before" dyno before the cam?

Thanks! I bought the car bone stock and unfortunately I didn't dyno it before I started the build. Aren't they 350-360 rwhp or so stock?

If there is no work done to the heads then that's very impressive....either that or its one very generous dyno lol

Stock heads. I haven't heard that PCM of NC's dyno is generous, I have heard that Alvin and gang are good at what they do. I just take it for what it is, one hell of a fun car!

I'd say their dyno is spot on, even a bit stingy based on my personal experience.

Those are some pretty sweet numbers. You have to love all of the usable torque throughout the powerband. You should post a vid of it running as it sits now.

I'm new to the area, but that is what I've read and heard.

Thanks!

The car was fun before, now with the new curve it's amazing. Need better tires...I can get a video up for sure.

11:1 402 LS2 with TrickFlow CNC'd 235's, Yella terra rockers, 243/249 .624/.624, Fast 90, and 1 7/8" Kooks headers with off road X and Borla Stingers in a C5 Z06 put down 528whp on their dyno. I don't remember the torque #. I was impressed when the owner had to delay picking it up 2 days because Alvin wanted to work on the idle with the A/C charged. They burned through 5 gallons of gas during the tune. Good stuff.

Sounds like a hell of a build and car! I dropped my car off on a Monday and picked it up on Wednesday, the tune is dialed in really nice. Definitely happy with taking it to those guys!

Honest opinion: How does that cam drive for you? I've been eyeballing it for my daily driver 6.0L to replace the cobbled-together 226 cam and 1.85 rocker combo. What RPM does that idle at?

When I asked Martin about the cam I mentioned it was a toy and not a daily driver, wanted a hard pulling cam so I could get the most out of the car. Also mentioned I wanted good usable power with good drivability. The SNS Torquemax Stage 3 was recommended. I was on the fence between the stage 2&3.

With that said, I've put a few hundred miles on the car since I've gotten it back, some of those miles being to and from work and I have no issues with drivability. A slight buck at low rpm if I'm crawling around a parking lot or whatever, but it's extremely livable and enjoyable.

Idle is 950 or a touch higher as indicated on the tach.

Sounds good too. I need something like this that I can drive everyday and pulls to 7,000rpm. I run 4.30 gears, I'm trying to be on the very edge of what is considered daily driveable N/A. On the fence now...

I can't imagine you'd be unhappy with it.

Numbers don't sound that unsurprising. That's a healthy cam and the topend is pretty good with the LS6 heads and intake.
