Default [VR] 754whp/709wtq 2015 Corvette M7 C7 Z06 - Build pics, Dyno Results, Video Inside!

The 2015 Corvette C7 Z06 is proving to be an awesome machine. The LT4 platform comes with a new 1.7L blower mated to a forged rotating assembly 6.2L V8 that makes 650 crank horsepower from the factory. We have all seen the videos and followed the process leading up to the release. As the car got closer, we just couldn't wait to get our hands on the new Z06 and start tearing it apart. That is what we did with our shop car the first week of ownership as we knew customer cars were not far behind.

Our client shipped his beautiful 2015 3LZ Z06 to Vengeance Racing with only 143 miles on the odometer. We have our own C7Z06 in house so we built this car right behind all of the development we found to make power on the shop car as he wanted to be one of the first out there with over 750 to the wheels in his beautiful, brand new, red Z06.

The first step in this process was getting an accurate baseline on our DynoJet chassis dyno. The car put down 556.76whp/537.70wtq. These numberss are a bit lower than the baseline numberss on our C7Z, but in line with what we are seeing on most of the new Z06’s. . Now it was time to start tearing the car apart with dealer tags still on the back!

As mentioned before, this Z06 was taking the same mod plan as our in house development car. If our car got the part and made power...the client's car was going to get it as well. We got all of the factory parts off the car and got to work. The mods for this round were going to be focused on getting more air in and out of the motor efficiently. This equaled opening up pathways with our VR porting on both the throttle body and supercharger while installing a Halltech carbon cold air intake. We also upped the boost and spun the blower with a custom VR pulley setup while helping that boosted air get out of the motor with a set of American Racing long tube headers and x-pipe. A VR Gen V cam kit and VR CNC LT4 heads rounded out the option package while installing an Alky Control methanol system to add some octane and cool the charge.

The client also wanted a B&B Fusion catback and MGW short throw shifter to enhance the driving experience.

Modifications Installed
  • Halltech CKNZ Full Carbon Cold Air Induction
  • 160* Thermostat
  • VR Ported Throttlebody
  • VR Ported Supercharger Snout
  • VR CNC LT4 Cylinder Heads
  • ARP Head Bolts
  • VR 2.38 Supercharger Pulley kit
  • VR 10% Over Drive Lower Pulley
  • Alky Control Methanol Injection System
  • VR Gen V Cam Kit- Retains VVT/Deletes DOD (Duration in the 220*s)
  • American Racing 2” Stainless Long Tube Header System with 3” X pipe
  • B&B Fusion Catback Exhaust
  • MGW Short Throw Shifter
  • Vengeance Racing Professional Installation
  • Vengeance Racing Custom ECU Calibration

So how did the car do after everything was installed and tuned?

754.80rwhp / 709.16wtq! That is a gain of 198.04whp / 171.46wtq!

These cars are capable of making great power over stock despite the fact they have been on the market for such a short period of time thanks to the development we are doing on our shop Z06. Still, one of the most surprising parts of the new Z06, is how well its street manners are at this increased power level. It is still as smooth as stock which really brings the new Z06 to a completely new level. Check out this drivability and dyno video.
