So the 8.5 10 bolt should be alright for a little? I won't be launching hard I don't have a transbrake installed because this car is going to be my daily driver. So my setup is pretty stout then?

IMHO for a street car it is. Mine is also mainly for the street with a few trips down the 1/4 mile to she what she will do. In my car the the power peaks at 6200 rpm and the shifting is all in by 6500.
I am going to change the cam out to a Cam Motion low lash solid roller to get more power under the curve. Also I am waiting on the Vararam VR-X intake manifold. I am hoping between the two I will get 50 more horsepower.

No, if the car is set up right. Speedtigger has gone in upper tens with his 1965 Buick Skylark. He has a 6.0 liter motor. So it is certainly doable. By the way that is the goal for my car.

i would get a better set of lifters than the ls7,get the compression up to at least 11.5-11.7 and a cam in the 240s intake and 250s exhaust.its a 408 so it can handle this very easy.i dont no your race weight but my buddy has a 404 iron block with tea 243 heads torquer v2 cam which is way to small fast 92 intake 3400 stall he runs 10.80 n/a at 3900lb.if he change the cam it probably would run 10.50 daily driver

Remember guys this is primarily a street car. A camshaft in the 240 range is going to have a fairly lumpy idle. So it will be up to the OP to make that decision on how radical of a cam he wants and how much surging he can live with.

Yeah, it's mainly a street car. My main goals are 10.99 or better and embarrass all the 5.bros that are on the street that think their cars are race cars. I want to put them in their place.

How much power did you pick up after getting the heads CNC ported? I've been thinking about doing that and a FAST 90/90 intake before a 150 shot.
