procharger doesn't put out compressor maps so tough to say but from the max effort D1 builds I've seen it looks to me like minimal gains to be had between the 3.7-8 pulleys and 3.55s. I made 860-870whp on a D1SC with 3.55" blower pulley on a 427ci setup using 91 pump gas and tons of methanol and 17* peak timing, but honestly looking at the bigger power builds I've seen I don't think I gained anything by doing so other than maybe a touch of mid range torque. My cam is spec'd to max out at 6,800rpm but my D1 flat lines at 6k rpm anyway so I honestly think I may make even more power with a smaller pulley and rev'ing it out like SloPoc, which also allows you to pull each gear longer. I think the D1 just runs out of air flow at about that area on almost all the D1 builds I've seen. when i spoke to procharge tech support they couldn't/wouldn't share compressor maps with me also but they felt the same way. torque looks nasty on your setup!

not that 10-20whp on these 800-1,000whp builds matter anyway though

What size balancer are you using? Seems like the D1's on bigger cubes hit sooner and level out about the same as a 376. Once I build the bottom end I plan to rev it higher and see what happens. He's running a 7.96" balancer and thinking about go to the 3.55" from the 3.7 he's using. Mine has a little room to go but I'm pretty happy with where it's at.

I'm just on the normal 8" Innovators West crank pulley. Your setup is a little different because you have the flip drive 10 rib where as I'm just on a normal 8 rib setup but I think not being able to rev mine to 6,800rpm or 7k rpm is hurting me pretty bad since mine noses over at 6k rpm where it made the 860ish whp. It doesn't seem like belt slip on my setup as I don't see belt dust etc so I think these D1 just max out their flow at a certain spot and that's it.

I know it's just a dyno but I think highest D1 I've ever seen was Champion Motorsports did one you can find on corvetteforum with a flip drive that I think made 890whp but through an auto and it looked pretty clean in upper rpm but all the other ones flatten out at 6k rpm. Not sure if it's tune related or what? but I'd rather be able to rev mine out more, make more peak power, rather than have more mid range torque at 4k rpm or whatever

cool to see what yours made on E85 though! that torque curve is mean. I've always wondered what mine would gain if I switched to E85 and seems like the answer is maybe 30whp at most.

I'm not running a flip drive. The new A&A bracket and tensioner is doing a damn good job with belt wrap and slip. Sounds like it's about time for you to go ahead and upgrade headunits. A D1 is gonna push so much air but it's working a little harder to fill up a 427 vs 376. It's crazy to say a tune is safe with this kind of power on stock bottom end but it is. I used to run more timing on both pump and race gas before these latest mods. Could probably add a couple more on each but not going to.

My Weld's came in yesterday. Gonna test fit them and then order tires in a few weeks.

oh right, you're no flip drive but that 10 rib is beastly. I had to choose between upgrading head unit and everything around it or just putting the money into longblock, once i get this setup fully sorted and have fun for awhile though big single turbo or direct port nitrous is the plan.

that's so crazy you're on a stock short block! hopefully this motor takes this abuse for a long time. e85 seems to be really nice on these stock bottom end beast builds.

I've contemplated going twins when I do the build but decided against it since I already have all of this blower stuff.

Hopefully it will last a while but if not we have a plan for a forged shortblock or bottom end.

Thanks man. Nice to somewhat drive again.

Been driving it the last couple of days. Really feels good to be back in the saddle. I'm in love with these Ridetech shocks. I hated my old pfadt's. Powerband is nice but I need to order tires to really get a feel for all of it. Car feels a lot better in E85. Friend came over to give it s good detail.

Switching to E85/flex fuel is one of the best mods I've ever done.

Detoxxx,

Where did you end up putting your fuel filter at? I saw a picture in another thread of yours but couldn't tell exactly where you put it. That thing is huge.

It's mounted inline under the car somewhere. I thought I had a picture of it. I'll have to double check.

Ordered some M&H's a couple of days ago. They will arrive before TX2K.

Also had Roger at Emblem Pro's make a custom badge for me. It turned out great. Then had my friend detail the car at his shop.

It sure is. Gonna let them do the ceramic coating next.

Car is officially ready for TX2K now that the tires finally arrived.
