Default BTR stage 3 n/a cam... care to guess with me?

Just for fun I wanted to see what the guesses would be. I think around 420. But i'm also trying to be realistic so I don't end up disappointed. Car is scheduled to be tuned on the 24th. so what do you think? or any personal experiences with something similar? and yes, I have done searches but some of the results are old and some people haven't shared theirs yet.

Mod list;
SBE LS1
BTR stage 3 N/A cam
ported and milled (62cc) 243 heads
LS6 intake/ ported TB
Speed density tune
36 lb injectors
hooker 1 3/4" LTs and ORY
T56 with ls7 clutch
12 bolt with 4.11s and oem steel DS
possible 75 shot if time allows

I agree, it's not the best to begin with. Has a few dents in it. I have a cut out under the back seat also that I forgot to mention. Improving the Y is on my to do list but I want to do the lnc-2000 first so I can up the n2o a bit.

Oh it sure can... last time it was done it made 364 on a mustang dyno then 377 on a dynojet. Only thing that had changed was I put on the steel DS for the dynojet run. I just posted this to have a little fun. It's exciting to see how it goes

Gotcha. Yeah get that LNC-2000 and hit it with a 100-150 shot. You'll definitely enjoy that extra kick

So today was the day. I took it to the shop that originally built the car before I bought it. As it turns out, the last shop that tuned it locked the pcm so he was not able to tune it. He did make a couple of pulls to make sure the afr was ok. So with the old tune and new cam it made 400hp and 387tq. He said it could use more timing to get some more out of it but I'd be better off money wise taking it to previous shop and pay for retune. He tried a pull on nitrous and the fuel pressure dropped to about 40 psi and stared to run lean so he backed off. So in the end, I need a fuel pump first then I can have it tuned properly by old shop. But that's going to have to wait til after vacation.

400 on that dyno will be different on another dyno, even the same model. They each vary some. Normally with that kind of combination, I'd expect 420-430 on my DynoJet 224Xlc with the timing and fuel right. If it has decent heads, it would love an intake manifold and throttle body on the mod list. You might get closer to 450.

Don't be too quick to jump to conclusions on timing either. I've had plenty of cammed cars make their best power between 26 and 28 degrees, but also had a handful that wouldn't make any more power with over 20 degrees. Each car and more importantly combination is different. Assuming X car will be best with X degrees of timing is a dangerous game. That kind of assumption is why mail order tunes are usually a waste.

I'd definitely take it back to the other shop then. Although every car is different Id be very surprised if it didnt need more than 23 degrees timing based on your build. Are you pulling timing for the nitrous? Definitely need to work out the fuel issue first though

He's just saying that in his experience it should be somewhere in that range. I agree, all dyno read different. I just need to put a pump in it, get the lnc-2000 , and retune it on dyno when all is fixed

Going to bring this back from the dead and just give a basic summary of what has transpired with the tune. So the shop that tuned my car with the stage 2 cam wanted 250 for a touch up on the tune. After much consideration I decided I was not going that route again. I ended up taking it to the shop in which the car made 377 at a previous dyno day ( read above posts if needed)
After multiple attempts. To have it scheduled and done it finally hit the rollers yesterday. (I put a used racetronix pump and a new hot wire kit on it). The new tuner requested I get a maf sensor as he'd prefer tuning it with a maf. So I installed a maf and he got started with it. He ended up having to flash it to an oem tune and starting from scratch. In the engine we figured out that the used pump was no longer up to the task with n2o but he was able to get a good n/a tune. It made 393hp and around 386tq. On n2o it almost made 500 (100 shot) before running lean. It was an extremely humid day so that might have had something to do with the somewhat low number. Overall, I'm happy with it. There's still room for more but I'm going to let it be for now. Also, I bet if I take it back to the dyno that read 400 on old tune it would probably be closer to 420
