08 G8 - LS3 Crate 525hp

so car make 419hp and 413tq with following mods

pacesetter headers to x pipe and straight pipe
3200 stall
stock ls3 with GM ASA...

all through 6l80e

hows do those numbers sound?

A touch low......but since we know nothing about the dyno or air quality I'd say that it's within the expected 'margin'.

That 6L80E is probably eating up 18 - 20% in drivetrain loss. Numbers look about spot on to me. Bet she rips pretty well with that stall!

So based on my experience with one 525HP crate.......he's a touch low; but only a touch.

All dynos read different, its all about it being tuned correctly.

That's right where it should be.

That engine is rated differently than a factory installed engine like the LS3. When tested with the same correction as the LS3 it is a ~500HP engine.

Really? How so?

I asked because last I checked, all OEM and crate engines are rated from engine dynos, with no accessories.

Factory GM engines are J1349 (SAE).
Non-factory GM crate engines are J607 (STD).

The LS376/525 would make about 500HP when tested under J1349. Conversely, the LS3 makes about 455HP when tested under J607.
