Otto, Daimler, and Maybach developed the 4-cycle engine in 1876, having stolen the design from the SBF, no doubt...

I wouldn't doubt it. The smaller BBC tube sizes, IIRC, were about 1-3/4" or 1-7/8", exactly what is used for LS's
