AI 280cc LS3 heads
Ported LS3 intake

Rather unusual combo - reverse split with FI. Gonna be interesting.

Admittedly, i don't get much into FI, so I could be WAY out of touch

For the most part, nowadays, I tend to see FI cams in general with rather wide traditional splits, and in the NA scene, the LS3 heads seem to respond well to 8-12 degree splits. VERY rarely see a reverse split on the LS3 heads, since they have such a high intake flow bias. So it caught me by surprise is all.

its the way to go mostly. if you are cammed.
im wondering, because i do modular turbos.
stock cobra cams or stock 4v modular cams in general make 1000 rwhp in a turbo.
i am of course considering turbo cams for my car way in the future.
are cams necessary for making 1krwhp easily in a LS3? you heads seem to be more than up to the task. i assume your heads flow 350-380 cfm .

if I crank the boost up I could hit 1000rwhp @ 22psi or so, only because I am cammed... stock cam with this setup is probably done around 850-900rwhp.
a lot of guys run traditional splits, but big companies like cam motion, Vengeance Racing, etc still use reverse splits.

We'll, interesting day at the dyno... brought two cars down (camaro and my cammed gto). The gto came back on a flatbed. Sounds like something let go in the bottom end on the ride down under easy cruising.
the camaro was having some issues with boost. With the controller off and running gate only 8psi)... it would ramp up to 8psi quick and then continue to creep to 15-16psi. MAF readings were all over the place (like last time when I had compromised plug wires).
peak tq was just past 8psi and peak power was at 15-16psi.
made only 818rwhp/692rwtq.
just for reference, when it held 16psi before (but with clutch slip up top) it made 817rwhp/758rwtq. The 817rwhp was at ~5600rpm last time, this time it made peak power at 6500rpm, just boost was all over the place. My boost gauge in car was jumping everywhere from 8 to 0 then to 10 then to 16.
looks like I'll have to either relocate the coils to address the plug wire issues or switch to twins down low to keep the wires alive.
Timing finished at 15 degrees... 17 degrees netted 3hp, so I put it back to 15.
i have the winter now to strategize on keeping the ignition wires alive.

Nice! It's gonna rip once sorted.
What's with the boost creep? Your WG not functioning proper or too small?
