I would not worry about dyno numbers with unlocked loose converters. Run it at the track and see what it traps.

With the setup in my sig I dynoed 396 whp but trap 122mph with transmission issues with very minor weight reduction. I would say I'm making much more than 396 to the wheels

He said the converter was flashing at 4200 and if it were a manual it would make 400-420...I plan on seeing what it will do at the track though

As mentioned above, they are just numbers. Mine did match trap speeds.
For comparison, (SOMZ in sig) my BTR III, .015 milled 241's, LS6 made 402 unlocked w/3600 converter on a Dynojet.
You still on the 10 bolt? Mustang dyno? Is the tune good?

I have the BTR stage 2, trick flow gen x heads, LS6 intake, ARH Catted LT's and Circle D billet 3600, dynoed at 426rwhp on a street friendly tune. Some day maybe I'll take it to the track, but it wasn't why I had the work done.

I've seen dyno numbers go all over the place. You really should never go by that. Take 2 identical cars that are identical in every single way, but one dynos lower but traps higher...pretty easy to see which one actually makes more real power vs more dyno power

Agreed!. I wasn't after numbers with my build, I use the old fashion butt dyno. Love how my car pulls and feels.

i had same problem! but im 6.0 btr stage 4 and 799 heads fast 102 4000 converter
made 250rwhp damit with all misfire and can't go more than 5000RPM
next run 280rwhp also car dead at 5000rpm battery + was lose tight and we go to
last run 310rwhp car 5300rpm Misfiring car dead zero fuel pressure.
did double check issues found :
1- lifter preload we open all rockers and just cranking and check the preload every thing was fine re-torque them all.
2- fuelpump issues actually it was 225 walbro check valve not holding pressure to fuel rails. once car dead or misfire it return all fuel to tank again and need again to pressurize the system after misfire, problem solved replace with Aeromotive 340 and works Great! with vette c5 filter regulator.
3- spark plug changed to NGK TR6 .

took the car to dyno first run 403rwhp
best run was 412rwhp also misfire problem came again and low voltage shown in HPtuners.

also once i touch paddle rpm go to 2500 and came slowly down to idle about 5-7 seconds !
took the car to shop

1-we found the positive wire to alternator was lose from terminal and it pretty thin 8AWG wire
replace with thick 3 AWG wire
2-also we found the grounds are missing so added grounds ( - battery to Engine & frame & body then from frame to engine engine to body head to valve covers just killer grounds setup lol i don't car abount stereo system. )
3- my new Taylor wires are damaged all melted i dunno how already was in heat protector Insulating sleeve headers. call buddies they said just go with MSD wires.
installed MSD wires with oem heat shield and put insulating sleeve on.
4- upgrade coil packs to D585
5- checked all vacuum lines no leak, PCV working fine , intake is okey sprayed carb cleaner while running nothing change on idle. removed intake out double inspection everything is okey, back map sensor and small vucuum blocked
i use now front map sensor. with ext wire. so no leak found for idle problem we go to Throttle body
6- idle problem chines 102 are too tight in IAC and hard to take it out so i wont port it so throw it out i go with Warr preformace throttle body better than chines 102 10000x times!

now getting ready to go again dyno and see if there are any other surprises!

I started off with the btr stage 4 but I had ptv issues so I went down to the 3...the tuner said the 3 would work and drive better with the 3 anyway....I'm going to swap heads and intake soon and I'll see what the difference is then
