Wonder if the cam was degreed in properly.. Lately it seems to be a common miss by local builders..

I had thought that at first but two things made me rethink it. The peak torque and hp RPM were basically right where they should be. And a 416 should clear 450 RW tq on accident. Its the low torque curve and its shape that point to 346 displacement

The arguing about nothing.....thought I would change the subject for the better. It seems that some just need to meet @ the track. It's back and forth every thread. If you think a combo isn't that good, I've learned to keep it to myself..... What some consider good another my think it's not optimal. Opinions.

Dude, I do NOT know what you are talking about. This thread is TOTALLY about a guy who had his engine stolen by a shop and put another smaller one in. Put down the joint/pipe/bottle and pay attention...

This thread was about a stolen engine now it's about Hammer build vs Tuskey and how fast he's been. I was trying to just change the subject from the BS to something a little lighter. Me personally I fill for the guy myself who lost a engine to Crooks, but to the other subject it's wasted time and space.

To each their own. I did ls3 ported heads and llsr my self. We shall see what it does soon

nice. Hard to beat Stock ls3’s for budget HP

LS3 are amazing motors. I made mid 11s on stock heads and stock cam in a 5th gen @120 and now 10.5@131 in my C6. Your 4th gen should be in the 10s on that set up if well thought out.

My built LSA engine did exactly that on the dyno, numbers were 440 where it should be close to 600 at the rear wheels, saw a small electric arc in cyl. #2 spark wire, replaced it and off it went up to 573 right away. The strange thing is it never showed anything when we scanned it, no misfire codes at all!

Three times Tq tried to climb prior to 5225 RPM, an appears to peak at around 5100 +/- a few RPMs. Doesn't that seem a little strange when compared to TQ curve of you far experienced HP junkies engine builders' engines have (By the way that's not a put down to you, just question of, doesn't that seem strange if it's internal engine component(s) problem!).

Is that not strange to you. Engine seems to still trying to make more HP/TQ. Doesn't seemed to have laid down and quit.

Is it the engine it's self, or something else?

Missing OP is another problem in it's self. Why!

No. Torque peaking at 5100 is not weird. The bumps before that are just harmonics/tune related.

The bigger problem is the torque is very low. It doesn't matter if it tries to make more. It's not going to make the 100-150ft/lbs more needed for it to be right.

It looks like a 5.3L motor, not a 416.
