Low dyno numbers tuner or something wrong ?

Default Low dyno numbers tuner or something wrong ?

Have a 2001 camaro with forged lq9 370ci fast 92 intake manifold 92 throttle body chris1313 velocity stack intake stock 317 heads torqued v2 cam 1/3/4 headers 4K stall 4:10 gears and only put down 342 hp on the dyno car feels strong but those numbers are really low in my opinion should I find a new tuner or something is wrong ?

big stall, unlocked, 4.10's not dyno friendly

If it was on a Mustang Dyno running their calibration will also "show" low numbers.

A dyno is a tuning tool and that's it. I don't pay much attention to the numbers. I look at how it fluctuates with tuning changes and look at the entire power curve to determine the ideal stall/launch and shift points.

Not GM related, but I did an A4OD to C4 swap (stock 12" converter to 10" 3500) in a late 80s fox body with no other mods done. It showed a -20 hp/tq loss on the dyno, but the car went 0.5 second quicker and picked up 2 mph at the track. Don't fret the peak numbers. Go to the track and see how it performs.

The reason I ask for a graph is this. If the curve looks good and carries out to 6500rpm+ then I wouldn't worry about it necessarily.

If it peaks at 5500 and falls off a cliff....well that's a different story...

You are losing a bit of hp by using 317 heads vs the smaller chamber 243 heads but I'd think that would only be about 10 hp.

It's hard to believe there is a world where 340 Hp is a good number. Please share your dyno chart so we can see if anything looks odd.

My dyno runs always look odd. For whatever reason, my car isn't dyno friendly and spins the tires above ~420 lb-ft torque, so my Hp curves are straight as a ruler. Been that way with 2 engines now. I go there to get a tune and then polish the tune on my own. Believe it or not, I can get a darn good tune on dyno even with the tires slipping. It will utterly consume my drag radials though. I put street tires on last time and they didn't wear at all but also spun.

370/317s put you in the 10.5-10.75:1 CR.

AFR? You left that out as well

Total timing? Also left out

Type of fuel? Guess what, also left out

Where do you live? Thatll tell us who possibly tuned it.
