Default C5 z06 442cid stroker dyno

Found a local shop who was able to clean up previous tune. Driveability issues were fixed, and it has a nice clean acceleration to redline
Final #s were 531 rwhp, 482 rwtq

Some quick specs:
2003 c5 z06, stock ecu, running 91 gas
LS2 based stroker (442cid) LS2 Short Block Darton sleeve 4.130 bore, Balanced Rotating Assembly 4.125 Dragon Slayer Crank, Wiseco -3cc 4.130 flat top pistons, Callies Rods
ATI 10% Balancer, Johnson Slow leak down Lifters, c5r timing chain, ls3 rockers with CHE trunion upgrade
with LS3 heads/intake (heads slightly milled for increased compression) (12.2:1), cam is 241/251, 630 lift, 112lsa
Ls7 MAF, LS7 injectors, LS2 TB.
Calloway CAI, PFADT tri-y headers, 1 7/8, catless xpipe, factory ti exhaust (with bypass mod)
Monster LT1-S twin disk, stock rear end

Their dyno AFR was reading 1 point off (11.5), WOT is @ 12.45, 25 degrees of timing.

That thing needs to breathe! Those heads/intake are a serious bottle neck and youd likely make another 100rwhp by changing to a basic ported ls7 head and decent intake.

No doubt. i would probably skip OEM LS7 castings and go aftermarket if a decent used deal comes along. But honestly for a street car, i am pretty satisfied with the power. Rear end can live longer, street tires handle the power, etc...

Nice build man I’m sure it’s fun to drive! I’m sure that 442 eats up the 22 degrees of overlap and drives pretty well now with the tune corrected

Cool cruiser you have there. Long as you are happy thats all that matters.

I understand guys like LS7 over LS3 heads on a build like this but lets not forget that Cartek went 9s at 140 mph or so on a 441ci with L92 heads and a factory LS3 intake. CID with L92s ran a 9.59@ 138.9 with ported L92s with the LS3 intake...

Just shows that with the great parts that already come on many LS engines, often all that's needed is the right cam for the job....

Thanks guys! The torque is everywhere. Very happy with the current mods combo, will leave it alone for now!

It looks like a great build. The most important thing it your happy.

I expected to see this was on a Mustang dyno. The numbers don’t look right to me. Something is choke it. Either that or tuning. Not even 500 ft lbs I’d expect much more from a stroker IMHO

On the previous dyno tune it made over 520 rwtq, but it was much colder weather. Now with the nights getting cooler, i swear it tears the tires at any rpm, feels faster than before.
More importantly, the torque curve was flattened out and acceleration is smooth.

that’s good. It’s prolly fine then. Do you plan on going to the track with it?

Looks good.

I've seen several Pfadt Tri-Y to ARH 2" headers back-to-back dynos over the last couple of years. Most pick up around 25-30HP and about that much torque (especially down-low and in the midrange, where the Tri-Y is supposed to be king). Something to consider at least.

It's more of a street car for me, but i might hit the 1/4 track in the future. I know this motor in another c5z ran 134mph NA.
