Default LS3 TransAm dyno results!

412hp / 408tq

This was on a Mustang dyno on a terrible weather day. It was 95F, extremely humid, at sea level. Tuner said the car could have easily made 10 more hp with cool dry air.

Engine is a stock LS3 crate motor with a Cam Motion 216/226-116+3, 0411 PCM with Lingenfelter 58x > 24x converter box, Nick Williams 92mm cable throttle body, T56 with 3.73 rear end, LS7 clutch kit, TSP 1 7/8" Headers and GMMG Exhaust.

Here's the graph with my old setup for comparison.

Old engine was a 383ci LT1

Heads

Trick Flow 21*
215cc intake port
2.055/1.60 valves
54cc combustion chamber
11:1 compression

Cam

219/227 .549/.565 114+3

Intake

Fully ported and polished by LE
52mm throttle body

The Rest

mid length headers, single Random Technology cat, GMMG cat back
stock T56, Fidanza aluminum flywheel, Strange 12 bolt with 3.73 gears

Pretty smooth idle with that cam? What do you get for highway mpg?

Just guessing, of course, but i would suspect it's pretty civilized with 2 more degrees LSA than the old Hot Cam., which isn't too rough. Durations are within a degree each for intake and exhaust.

When it idles you can't tell the cam was swapped. Best I've done on the highway so far is 27mpg.

Nice swap with solid gains

I have a quick question about 3rd Gen’s. Can you swap a fourth Gen Firebird front clip on a 3rd Gen car? Fourth Gens are getting hard to find.

thanks,
jimbo
