Default Dyno pull cost

What would one expect to pay to simply make 2 or 3 pulls on a Dynojet dyno and change the rev limiter and nothing else? I had my new build tuned by the best tuner in my area and he has a heart breaker Mustang lol and I fully understand that a dyno is a tuning tool but yes I would like to have a dyno printout in Dynojet numbers for bragging rights. 535hp has a much better ring to it than the Mustang 465hp. Local cat with a Dynojet wants $400 to simply move my rev limiter from 6800 to 7200 and make a few pulls. Sounds a bit pricey considering I only paid $500 for the original tuning session that was changing for increase displacement, cam change, 92mm to 102mm t-body change, and going from a heavy AF ls7 clutch to a RPS 26lb clutch. Scott had his hands full!!!

I guess a better question is how many credits and how much do they cost to change the rev limiter?

Dyno time $100 to make 3 pulls . I wouldn't expect to make 70 hp more though. I don't want to start a mustang vrs dyno jet debate , thats just my opinion.

My tuner was the one that said that your can pretty much multiply Mustang results by 1.13-1.15 and get comparable Dynojet numbers. So I googled... Google says the same thing, as you I'm not trying to start a debate just going on what I was told. I've got someone much closer than my guy that has a Dynojet and I'll find out for myself he just seems really expensive to make a rev limit change and make 2-3 pulls no tuning.

When I was a kid we had a shop in town. *****'s Carb Service (I think), Blue Island Illannoy. I took a small block Chevelle there when I was 16 (?). They put the coon tune on that thing. It NEVER ran better. This is just me thinking we had survived w/out dynos and tuning in the past. We really didn't.

I have tuned my carbed stuff by the seat of my pants and a distributor wrench. Worked for me for decades. Plus I actually learned what jet sizes, accelerator cams, power valves, squirters, worked for what. Invaluable knowledge. Not AI.

Google's AI, just like everything else on the internet, just repeats whatever myths have been written the most in the info it scrapes. Regardless of what you hear, Mustang AND Dynojet numbers can and sometimes are manipulated for various reasons. Even the air pressure in your tires or the tension on the tie down straps can make a difference, and that is without getting into weather correction or other issues. Even engine dyno numbers can be intentionally manipulated, simply by changing the sweep rate. Unless you do pulls on the same dyno on the same day at the same temperatures under identical conditions, the numbers can't be 100% accurately compared to anything.

I paid $300 to get a second opinion with Nicks build on a Jet. 2 pulls.
