I have nothing but very good things to say about a ported TB. I was running consistant 13.6's stock with 2 cutouts. I did the free ram air mod, ported TB and TB bypass and ran best of a 13.1. The ported TB has been the best mod i've done to my car so far... since I only have very few mods. But I would definately recommend it to anyone.

C'mon guys, if you really want to test how much a ported TB helps, get a vacuum gauge. Logging the factory MAP or MAF sensor probably isn't precise enough to show a difference WOT, but a vacuum gauge will. My logs seem to jump around a bit... Maybe if you only logged those variables and nothing else it would be fast enough.

I plan to measure the pressure drop across all the parts of the intake system with a 0 to 2 psi vacuum gauge from mcmaster.com. I'm curious to see if there is a drop across the MAF sensor. My last car (Toyota Supra) had a pretty restrictive looking MAF sensor that produced up to 1.5 psi of vacuum all on its own. Fortunately it was a turbo car so it didn't care very much.

My stockish C5 FRC gets 13.9 psi MAP at redline. Nothing like going from a turbo car to a NA car with negative boost

In my personal experience, the last dyno i did had about 10 pulls. between the 8th and 9th all that was changed was a ported throttle body.... was waiting for it to be done on previous pulls borrowing a stock one. back to back it gave me 8rwhp and sorry but i cant remember the torque. AF was fine and even left alone. pull 10 netted the same results and so the tune was left as is

I thought AC turns off at WOT and the AC clutch just freewheels. There should be no power taken from the AC except during part throttle when the AC is actually on. Are you sure it wasnt just in your head?

Yeah it does freewheel at WOT or when off but I still think there is at least some drag there, especially in that split second delay before it shuts off (if the AC is on that is), though probably not enough to feel via 'seat of the pants'. Maybe.
