My numbers on the second pull was at superior and they were 410/396 and no I have not had any other pulls on other dynoes as of yet. I am considering going to A and A corvette in Oxnard and having a tune with ls1 edit or HP tuners as my car runs really rough when cold, but after it warms up it runs a whole lot better without any surging or anything. I would run long tubes and true duals, but I am going the turbo route in a year or two and that would be a waist of money. The car feels very strong and when off the dyno you cannot even feel the power fall off past 5800 I am shifting at 6200 and it feels like there is no power loss it only loses about 5-10 rwhp.

I am about to have car retuned with a real ls1 edit tune up until now I have been running a half *** predator tune what does everyone guess I should pick up? Has anyone else out there ran a custom predator tune and then switched to a full on edit tune and seen any impressive results? I believe the predator tune is only wot right? Shouldn't I see some good gains in the midrange and even top end over a predator tune? Since the predator tune is only wot is my car running rich or lean under wot? Will my gas mileage get any better with a edit tune of idle part throttle and wot? My gas mileage does not seem that great ever since the H/C install and predator tune? I probibly only get 20-22 mpg cruising on the freeway in sixth going 75 mph with engine turning over at only 1600 rpms! I am hoping to pick up power and gas mileage.

If you're really going to do the turbo, then don't do anything now. Save your money and do the turbo the right way. Probably going to cost a pretty penny. I'll probably do that to my next car. Turbo should pass the sniffer much easier and run smoother than a hot na car.

I am going to turbo charge it for sure it will cost less than building a 427 and get better gas mileage and also make more power and will have the cool factor. It will be under 12000 dollars the kit is the PTK single intercooled kit which includes everything I need for 5800 good for 850 crank hp. My goals are a streetable 600 rwhp with the ability to up the boost via boost controller for almost 800 rwhp on the 100 octane I can get at the pump. I will be taking the car to strictly performance in Van Nuys I met the owner through a friend Mark who onwns MMS racing which is a ford modular turbo shop in Oxnard. Rob Barth is the owner of Strictly Performance and he has a great reputation and reasonable prices. He also specializes in turbo's. Just going to forge the bottom end and reuse the superior heads with arp head studs and arp everything in the lower end with dished pistons for around 9:1 compression. Tranny is already beefed up from D and D performance. Going to use the weak 10 bolt for a little while before I put in a new rear end. Nothing should come close on the street.

I'm actually going to Superior Automotive tomorrow for a few Dyno passes. I need a good base line before my cam goes in. I'm kinda curious what numbers my JBA will provide. BTW, did you guys do the flange mod to the passenger side header before installation? I'm sure that's worth a few HP.

I did not modify the flange at all and made 340 with bolt ons before and 415 after the H/C package on their dyno. Torque was 355 with bolt ons and 403 after H/C.

Your JBA should be a solid 10-15 rwhp even over 00 and newer manifolds as long as you have all the bolt ons. I made 340 rwhp with JBA and nothing but bolt ons!! Just FYI superior cannot tune worth a ****, but they can measure your power no problem.

Wow that's great..
When I dyno'd w/ lid, exhaust, and jbas I only did 323whp..

Just recently at a dyno day here a '02 SS with FIPK, Shorties, and exhaust put down the same power as a '02 WS6 with lid and exhaust..

wonder if I should get one of those random tech y-pipes?

I thought I was in the 325-330 range. What a pleasant surprise. Now I'll have to see what a baby cam will do. Next mod... Comp Cam 212/218 .558 .563 115LSA

I'm glad you're taking this route to mod your car 1LE 99, because this is right where I'm headed. I have/will have a similar setup as yours. you're one step ahead of me, so it's nice to see what your mods are doing for you. Those are nice #'s with the jba's. I just put on an LS6 intake and have the comp 216/220 sitting in my closet. I still have to decide what to do as far as headers are concerned. JBA's, BBK 1 3/4 or ported 00's?? Hey, why don't you try the new SLP pulley out for me while you're at it lol.

Haha! So how do you like the LS6 Intake? I've had mine on for a few weeks now and felt a noticeable power gain. What's weird is I didn't gain anything at the track It should work well with the cam though. As far as the JBA's or BBK's, just try to find a set that's cheep.

Well, I got the LS6 intake mostly in anticipation of my head and cam swap. After the intake swap my butt-o-meter felt more response and slightly better upper rpm pull. I just found new, in the box JBA's for $225, so those are on the way. Have you already bought the comp 212/218, or is this the cam you want? Sounds like you'll have a similar setup to mine. I figured since I live in CA I'd spend my longtube money on shorties and use ported heads to make up the difference. I bought A set of ported heads from my friend who took them off his car when he went to a stroker. By looking around I found heads, cam and shorties for less than a brand new set of LT's.

Yes, I purchased the cam and RPM kit (Ti retainers, PR's and Springs) few weeks ago from Summit. They were on backorder so I wont be seeing 'em until July 14th. Everything else (gaskets and seals) is sitting in my garage.

BTW, great deal on the JBA's!!! What y-pipe are you going with?

Right now I just have the SLP y-pipe and stock cats. I'm not sure yet? Technically I don't think there are any legal alternatives yet. I'm kind of waiting for an OBD II CARB legal cat. I saw that CARB is reviewing some of the aftermarket cat laws pretty soon. I think given some time there might be some 50 state legal OBD II cats. I'd like to just weld some high flow cats into my setup, because I already have the SLP y-pipe with a flowmaster merge collector welded in. It's a great y......minus the stock cats.
