Default Are these Dyno #'s good??

Ok i just got my car dynoed and tuned and it dynoed at 408 rwhp and 391 rwtq. My mods are stage 2 PP ls6 head, 224/224 .581 112lsa cam, slp lt's, ORY, Borla catback, BBk TB, Slp lid, FTRA, K&N Filter, 160 thermo, KTRE 12bolt with 3.73. It think that is it, I will try to get the Dyno sheet scanned off and on here. I just wanted to know if these are good numbers? I was expecting more but maybe i shouldn't. Also give me some ideas for some more power like bigger cam sizes or anything else. I would like to be 460 plus HP.
thanks
mike

My buddy did 427 rwhp and 404 rwtq with just a cam.

That is alot of money spent for not very much gain... but to each his own. They aren't horrible but for stage 2 Ls6 heads that is a bit low.

and i'd wager he's got at least 10* duration and a peakier powerband.

mike, your numbers are fine and right in line with everyone else who has PP heads and a 224 cam. also keep in mind your through a 12 bolt and 3.73's.

What magical cam or dyno is this? Seems extremely high for Cam only.

Mike, The numbers are maybe a tad low but you must consider that a 12bolt w 3.73's is going to eat up 10-12rwhp @ torque over a stock 10 bolt 3.42 gear. Add 10rwhp and you come in at 418rwhp if you still were running the 10bolt. Can you post us a graph? I am very interested in seeing how the under the curve from your PP LS6 heads @ TR224 compares to my PP 5.3s @ TR224. Congrats on your setup as I know after adding my heads my car was hella more fun to drive everyday.

Those numbers seems fine for such a mild cam. Also as was said before the 12 bolt is going to take few ponies off.

Mike, it seems like these guys are pretty much telling you what I said. Pretty good numbers through a 12 bolt and a mild cam. Plus he doesn't have a pulley either. Now get that car up here so we can run it against my old ride!

Those numbers are good for a mild cam. Torque is nice too.

My 12 bolt with 4.11s, heavy DS and iron disc clutch eat 20RWHP on the dyno

those numbers are fine. throw on a pulley and you'll get a little more. most of the big dyno cam only cars are through stock drivetrains and clutches. i, like you, have a very heavy drivetrain and that can make the dyno numbers look a little lower than others. but hey, i like to actually race my car

I don't know what kind of tune you are running- maybe it is holding you back a little. Otherwise, your numbers sound OK to me.

Distortion_69 that posts here on the board.

419 with full belt, 12 botl rear and 4.10 gears. Cam is a 234 or something similar with 600/610 lift, on a 111

His powerband is NOT peaky. It is above 400rwhp all through his shift point.

Made 404 rwtq also.

Default Hi

Its my car he is talking about.. Hopefully it'll gain 2-3 horses with the 01-02 heads I'm putting on there.. It had the 99 heads b4. FWIW: I dynod the car with some pretty horribly bent valves (2-3-2) and still did 390rwhp . Hoping to compete at thunder in the cam only class, if all goes well.

Its a "Ron Jeremy" Cam.. ~236/239 .600/.610 111lsa.. And yes, the cam has alot more duration than this guy, so this is an apples and oranges comparison..

Numbers look decent to me. FWIW: My car made 372rwhp with xe-r 224, a 12 bolt, pacesetter headers, and ls1 intake.. So maybe they aren't the STOUTEST dyno numbers I've ever seen.. but run it at the track and see how it does.. Thats what counts. Dyno probably not quite as peaky as my cam only setup either.. Although my dyno looks pretty damn nice.

Good Luck,
Josh

The numbers seem kinda low but that doesnt mean anything. Do you have any b4 and after dyno numbers of your car? Like numbers with the cam b4 the heads?
