Mixed Results on a 231/237 Stage II Patriot 5.3 Setup
Went to the track tonight on the new setup and have some mixed feelings.
My best before hand with the addition of the LS6 intake netted me a 12.9@109.8 on a 2.0 60'. At this point the car dyno'd out to around 338/350 only going to about 5200 rpm
Tonight after the heads/cam and an initial mail-order tune I did get a new best of 12.68@113.7 on a 2.0 60' (i think there may have been at least one gear against the limiter 6800)
This was with no cats, the addition of an ASP underdrive pulley, the 231/237 the Patriot Heads and 28.5lb injectors.
It has to be running pig rich because the smell of fuel makes me almost ill and it was a gain of 4+mph on the ET but I guess I was expecting more than that.
Anyone got any thoughts on how close/far-off I am? I'm stumped.

I got everything through TSP. They have been great so far so I'm sure if I send them something they'll help me figure out what is going on.
I was def hopeing for more than 114 but then again the car has always been a dog. It might just be the weight of the car. On one of those HP calc online I tried and it said that for a car weighing in at 3800lbs (3441 stock curb + 220me + 9"/35 spline axles/locker + full blow stereo 125+ + subframes + dual disk clutch w steel flywheel) it give me a HP of 439 at the wheels 518 at the motor. Obviously it is a estimate but even if I subtract it down to 3600lbs it give me 419/491
I will need to do some autotap to see what is going on. Maybe I'm only using 7 of the 8 or something easy like that.

so what would be off that I could use to determine if they tuned for the injectors or not...
I did tune the car and then remove the battery (not during the tune). It seemed like it ran good right after the tune but then after putting the battery back it it seems like it isn't as good.
I have no idea.

you probably need to ATAP the car and see what is going on first, that will help know what kind of tuning changes need to be made. give them as much info as you can about how the car is acting, shifting, ect.
your sig says, Nittos, is that what you were running on??? With the added power you will need to run at least an ET Street if not better. Get your issues (tuning) figured out, get some weight off the car and the 60' down and you should be able to get in the lower 12's and possibly 11's with that setup

I'm not sure how different the f-bodys run compared to a C5, but my car with Livernois Stage 1 LS1 heads, 224/228 114 cam, LG Motorsports Headers, X-Pipe, and Corsa Catback went 12.6@116.9mph. Before (with Catback only)it went 13.4@104 consistently. I've only made one pass with the Livernois H/C setup and it wasn't a very good run because I spun 1st a bit and hit the limiter in 2nd so I'm sure it has a little more in it, I just need to learn to drive

If you installed larger injectors and didn't tune for it you are dumping to much fuel.
When you had it dynoed did you measure the air/fuel ratio? It sounds like you are running rich. When I took mine to have it tuned I was running 11.0 A/F ratio. When tuning to adjust the A/F ratio to 12.9 I gained 40 hp.
It is common with mail order tunes to take several time sending your pcm back before it runs correctly.
Good luck,
Al

Went back to the track after some dyno time. I found I was pretty lean and my A/F went from around 13.8's to now around 13.3-13.4 at it's highest.
Previous best was 12.6 @ 114 and today I got a 12.3 @ 116 (1.94 60' compared to my last 1.98)
I was hoping to be in the 118-119 range and I think I can get there by getting it even closer to 12.8
I was feeling much better after the runs today to say the least..

Johnny, If your still running your Corsa muffler your not leaving much on the table without a cutout. On my setup I only gained 5rwhp @ 4rwtq with an open 3" QTEC over my Corsa muffler @ CME tips. The gains were also only from 4K rpms and up. Everything below 4K was an exact overlay on the graph. HTH

sorry... 401/390 through an M6 with A/F sitting around 13.3 (still lean)
The base line was less and that is when I ran the 12.6 before the dyno time. I only wish I could have had a few more pulls to get it closer to 12.8. I have a feeling there's another 10+ in there somewhere.
It picket up almost 2 full mph from the orginal tune 13.8 a/f to the tuned 13.3

5 rwhp and 4rwtq @ 4k+ is still a good gain, I got my cutout for $30 and $20 welded in. It's not nice and automatic but i only take it off at the track really, so no biggie. Worth it to me.
