500rwhp n/a 346?
I know Jason99T/A did it without a solid roller. Everything about his car is listed in the thread
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...highlight=dyno
so I assume you're wanting this on the stock bottom? If you want stock cubes without forged internals get a fluxed crank and necesary parts. My recomendation is a 347-348 forged bottom end with a good set of stage II heads, high compression (11ish), big cam hydraulic (24x25x) with high lift over .600, appropriate valvetrain upgrades (springs, retainers, rockers etc.), and the needed bolt ons like full intake and full exhaust. maybe even a 90mm fast intake due to the big cam but search for threads on that......
big cfm numbers isnt as inportant as the charge velocity. the better a heads is milled, the smoother and quicker the "mixture" will flow. APE has great heads as do other sponsors--------------------------------------------------------------------->>
your looking at a heavy penny atleast 7k-8k for the motor and bolt ons......but it will all be well worth it when u get it all ready and start it for the first time.
good luck!!!

Give Mikey at Rapid a call.

its all about the combo. you dont need a huge 240*+ cam, heads flowing 300+cfm, super high compresion.
the nice thing about Tony's setup and other AFR combo's is that they are not super high rever gutless tq 500rwhp setup.
And to further clarify, the cam I am referencing is definately a hydraulic roller, not a solid grind.
Hey Guys...
My goals are to hopefully see 510 RWHP on my C5 (as most of you know already generating 480 RWHP with the AFR 205's, a 224 cam, and all the "bolt-ons").
I'm hoping to achieve this by simply swapping the heads to our larger 225's and installing the next cam in the AFR R&D pipeline which will still be somewhat on the conservative side (probably somewhere around 232' @ .050). Again, as I have mentioned in a few other threads, it's quite obvious a bigger stick will yield higher peak numbers and even more "bragging rights", but I will let the more aggressive tuners play with the more "hardcore" build-ups.....If we can achieve a "legitamate" 510 RWHP thru 3.90 gears, a stock LS1 shortblock, and a "medium" sized cam that has more overall drivability and better street manners I would say that's hitting one out of the park.
Obviously this is all just "hopes and dreams" at this point but I feel reasonably confident those numbers will be attainable with the new combination. The 225 is simply a larger version of our 205 and still retains the winning formula of strong airflow across the entire curve (VERY important) thru a modest sized port. It's gain in "volume" is also complimented by a significant increase in total flow keeping the airspeed close to the 205 while providing more peak airflow for higher HP potential.
Hopefully sometime this January we will get to see some actual results...
Will obviously keep you guys informed on our progress.
Regards,
Tony M.

I agree that it'll take the right combo, but 89IROCZZ4's car is a A4. Your not going to see a A4 put down 500rwhp without a huge cam, excellant heads, and high compression. I'll go one step further and say that it is going to be almost impossible without having a solid roller.
