The tensioner should take up the 'tiny bit'. If you don't have a tensioner for whatever reason, you should look into purchasing an adjustable tensioner like what's available from Katech.

can you use the stock one? sorry, i thought the belt would go from the crank straight ot the alt and no where else

The belt does not come in contact with the race version pump. The race pump does not come with any kind of pulley. Depending on whether you keep the power steering or not, a tensioner design is entirely up to you. If you plan on keeping A/C and power steering i can't imagine how difficult that would be to design something to accomodate all the accessories.

We are only spinning the alternator so the design was really simple. Couple pieces of stainless tubing cut to length, 3/8" aluminum plate, and a turnbuckle. Put the belt around the crank pulley and alternator pulley, then crank the turnbuckle down till the belt is tight. I will try and get some pictures tonight.
